What are these shooters?

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

New DC shooter arriving in April. (Yes, Dreamcast) Developed by Triangle, who also made XII Stag, which I have never seen or played.

Is this a compilation of GW1+2, or a brand new chapter?

you have about as much information as i do about trizeal. it was released in japanese arcades on naomi hardware. supposedly plays like raiden. the impressions i've read have been pretty negative, but i want it anyway.

gigawing generations is a new game. unlike the first two, it uses a vertically-oriented monitor. arcade version runs on taito's pc-based type x hardware, and i remember hearing that the graphics are poor. i don't know if i'll buy it at full price...i'm not a gigawing fan.

anyway, the shooter to look forward to is psikyo's dragon blaze, which is coming to ps2 early next month. if i'm not mistaken, it was their last arcade shooter, and it looks absolutely phenomenal. it comes bundled with sol divide, but the less said about that the better.

TriZeal is considered mediocre at best. It's by the makers of XII-Stag, if that tells you anything.

GigaWing Generations is a new game running on Taito's Type X platform. Its big new feature is apparently massive framerate-dropping. Super!

Try the www.shmups.com forums for more specifics.

A Londoner in #shmups keeps mentioning how the local GWG Type-X machine has been crashed since before Christmas, so he has no way to tell if it's any good or not. Apparently nobody at the arcade knows how to troubleshoot it. ;)

Yeah, I think I'm going to go for that Dragon Blaze pack. At least Sol Divide has nice artwork, so it's not totally unwelcome on the cover.

Sol Divide getting whored out again? At least Dragon Blaze is pretty neat.

Thanks anyway, nothing to see here I guess. Hopefully PSP starts to get crazy with the ports, Border Down would be awesome.

Is Dragon Blaze a sequel/related to Sol Divide? The ps1 release of that game was enough. If those 2 games aren't related they might as well give us something worthwhile like Sengoku Blade.

I'm not sure if they're related storywise, but as far as gameplay, they couldn't be more different. Sengoku Blade and Sengoku Ace were already released in a pack together; the Dragon Blaze pack will be the third such compilation.

Dragon Blaze is pretty much like Gunbird(or any of the countless other Psikyo offerings) with a different skin. This includes the tradition of weird character quote combinations.

Sol Divide has some neat artwork, but very could be the most shallow shooting game ever devised.
