I Was There! Official L Receiver 2/12/2016
Since today is thanksgiving in the US I wanted to know what everyone is thankful for.

Im thankful for
-A great 4 year relationship with my GF
-Good health
-Graduating from undergraduate in December with a computer engineering degree(hopefully going on to PhD program next fall)

I know I have so much shit to be thankful for. Like I found a new job 3 months ago that's paying me 16% more than my last job in an area where the cost of living is like 25% cheaper. All in spite of the current state of the economy where there have been layoffs for the past year.

But I still just feel completely blasé and indifferent.

I made up a plate of food tonight, and I am thankful for that.

I also felt sad because it is probably more than some people eat in a month.

Fuck this fucking planet.

World Peace
I am thankful for the fact that cool minds prevailed over AQ using diplomatic measures and did not have to resort to more war.
I am thankful for Israel and Palestine finally agreeing to the Annapolis Conference thus ending all hostilities.
I am thankful for the fact that the people of the Russian Federation joined arms and replaced Putin and his cronies with Kasparov, leaving Putin as the new antagonist to the Craig Bond movies and is now the last Dr.Who.
I am thankful for India and Pakistan understanding the mutual benefit of allowing a free river system to which led the to the freedom of Kashmir as a seperate independent nation.
I am thankful for China realizing Tibet's rights and letting them live how they want to on their own soil.
I am thankful for the fact that even though aids was not cured, it was quarantined and it died out. This alone helped millions of Africans to rise out of poverty and was further capitalized by International investors in developing the continent to thoughts, hearts and minds that had given up hope only 50 years back.
I am thankful for the fact that man finally reached Mars and found more than he thought he would.

I kind of always thought that it was cheesy to devote one day to being thankful for shit, and that peoples' actions should display what they're thankful for on a day-to-day basis, but people always tell me that I'm a scrooge. So I guess I'll just say that I'm thankful for my family, for the long weekend, and for the fact that tomorrow won't be thanksgiving.

Getting over another bump in the road... more specifically, not being one of the 9500 people laid off by my company.

Definitely getting a job after a layoff last winter...

Meeting my awesome awesome awesome gf

Friends, family, health.

That about covers it. The first few months of this year were the worst in my life, so things are amazingly better in comparison.

my parents and family.

i can safely say that were it not for them and their support, i'd have cashed it in at some point in the past few decidedly rocky years. they save my life daily just by existing. it's a thing you can't realistically thank someone for, but then again, you can't thank them enough.

That you guys have something to be thankful for!:D

And my health.

I'm thankful to be home after a long day, in my quiet apartment, as opposed to being at my aunt's tiny house listening to the screaming of seven children running rampant.

Science for giving me a job.
The arts for giving me something to enjoy.
Farmers for making incredible produce.
Family and friends with whom to enjoy things with.
