I'm trying to recall the consoles that had Midnight launches. I seem to recall the NintenD00DS, Xbollocks, and uhhhh. . . uh. . .

Reason I ask is I'm curious if there will be a widespread midnight launch for the PS3 instead of having to f'ing camp in the god damned Best Buy parking lot again. >:|

Unfortunately most retailers here, the asshole of America - Cleveland, didn't release the PS2 at Midnight. >:|

I'm hoping by 2006 they'll have a clue, or else they'll have a boot up their ass.

GameCube definitely had a midnight launch. Every Eb, Gamestop and Babbages in our city opened at midnight.

I could be wrong, but I think the trend started with the release of the DC. Since then all consoles have had em.

PS2, GCN, Xbox, NDS, PSP.

Pretty sure the GBA did not. At least not in NY. Nor did the GBA SP, of course.

Midnight sales are the greatest. I remember grabbing my Dreamcast, going home, playing Power Stone and Soul Calibur til about 4am, then waking at 5 so I could be at my portfolio show in college and graduate that next morning.

Waiting in line for PS2 was fun and going to my friends house to play UT on it and complain how shitty it was compared to the PC version.

I got the last Gamecube at midnight by a miracle. My XBOX was preordered and I had to work that one night so I got it the next day.
