What do I do with an OLD car?

I'd take even a couple of hundred to get it off my hands but no one seems to want it and the dealership laughed me out of there when I offered it as a trade to my new car :(

So now I am stuck with an old car and my apartment folks will soon come bugging me to get rid of it -_- I'd really like SOMETHING for it but is donating it my only option?

an auto salvage might take it off your hands, but they'll probably only give you $100 or less, usually reserved for junked cars. What kind of car is it? Unless its a complete piece of shit that doesn't run anymore i don't see why you can't sell it yourself.

F*CK. I want an old Accord. I hear they run forever, obviously, not forever, but for a long time.

I had a 1993 Grand Am and it broke down recently. I don't know what to do with mine either, I want to get like 100 bucks out of it, dammit.

The thing is, I know this car can be fixed (but I've had it with old cars) so I am hesitant to just give it away knowing some fucker will get it for cheap and ride it into the ground some more :lol

a) if you're interested in a new car, why do you care if someone fixes up your old ride and gets another 4 years out of it?
b) if you're not interested in a new car, why would you pay the absurd costs of a new car whn you could just spen a fraction of that to keep your current one going?

Cos I am pissed at all the money I put into the car all these years :lol I decided it wasn't worth spend anything on it anymore though cos something else always popped up a few weeks after every fix >_<

thats likely exactly what they will do. My uncle owns an auto salvage and he's gotten so many good cars (Lexus, Infiniti, even a friggin Range Rover) that way. People just don't have the effort/money to fix cars up and he gets them on the cheap.

When my car blew up in Sept, the dealer took it as a trade-in, but only gave me $300 for it. This was after I called scrap yards and they said $100-$200 for it. :(

Give it to the jews and write it off on your taxes.

What's wrong with it? If the repairs aren't that major, why look at getting it fixed up and selling it for more? A '92 is a really recent car and Hondas are generally good. Unless it was something like the transmission, i'd look at that option.

I'd go for salvage. You'll get $50-$100 bucks for it.

A friend donated a car last year and got a tow and storage bill for thousands of dollars a year later. I guess the DMV screwed up the title and the deadbeats who got the car...were deadbeats.
