The way my room is I can't set up 5.1 speakers so I'd prefer 2.1 because of that. I could get big stereo speakers but some of them cost a shit ton and I'd need to get a receiver as well. Are sound bars a good alternative?

These are the ones I'm looking at:

Samsung HW-D450
Sony HTCT550W

I'm not an audiophile but I do like good sound, nice bass, clear voices, that kind of stuff. I mainly want it for consoles and some movies if that matters. On a side note. are there component to HDMI adapters because I have a 20gb 360 so no HDMI on it?

My other opinion is something like these Pioneer 5.1 HTP-522 but probably won't be able to set them up around me properly.

I know but that was more of a general debate on sound bars vs surround. I thought I'd make a new thread seeing as I'm looking to buy certain ones, ect. I already know I can't fit huge surround setup.

I have the previous year model of that samsung you linked and it works well in a smaller room.
