What gamecube games does your wife or girlfriend play? Im trying to find a new game for my wife as a surprise and i need some advice. Her current favorites are Harvest Moon: A (and Another) Wonderful Life and Animal Crossing.....and thats it. She really likes Harvest Moon, and i will be picking up Magical Melody as soon as it it out. She doesnt like racing, sports, shooters, and really wont play any of the games that i have for the cube. The cube is my only console right now.

I was thinking of trying to find Pikmin 2.

Any suggestions?

My girlfriend plays some Pikmin 1 & 2 (she finished them both if I recall correctly) but she's playing Pac 'n Roll and Animal Crossing for DS at the moment, she played a lot of AC on the Cube too so I guess that's a safe bet.
I don't know how "cool" she is with gaming but if she isn't actually afraid of the controller, she could try playing Wind Waker or Star Fox Adventures. Those last for about 20 hours and are pretty easy all the way trough.

metroid prime 2
viewtiful joe
super monkey ball

Like mine, except she likes everything I own. Except for Donkey Konga; she hates bongos for some reason. Women. :lol She also hates DDR and Taiko Drum Master and any rhythm game. I don't know. I guess it's not her forte.

She also bought:

Ribbit King
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Diablo 2
Magical Drop 3
Bejeweled 2
Solitaire

that's about it, really. She'll occasionally wanna play a arcade beat-em-up or racer with/against me, but that's it. Really, I kinda prefer that she has her own hobbies and interests -- tends to create less conflict in tastes and opinion.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming.

She wont play MarioKart (DS or cube) but she will play Sled Storm for the PSX....go figure.

Mario Kart and Wario Ware Mega Party Games.

Her sister likes both as well and also recommend Mario Party.

None of us like Donkey Konga, though. And though my fiancé gave Animal Crossing a go, that experiment didn't last long.

It's all about multiplayer for non-gamer ladies.

I tried Donkey Konga with her, didnt fly. She likes Karaoke Revolution much more.....except that it has so few songs on it. Had a great time playing it with her sister and mom over xmas.

I wish she would try metriod, SMS, SM Strikers........i might get her to play Toad Stool tour

My wife likes all of these:

Pikmin 2
Super Monkey Ball 1&2
Sonic Mega Collection
Mario Baseball/Tennis/Golf/Strikers
Harvest Moon
Animal Crossing
Donkey Konga 1&2
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Mario Kart
Paper Mario

As far as GameCube games go she has played through Beyond Good & Evil, Wind Waker, Paper Mario, and Super Mario Sunshine. She has also said she wants to start Tales of Symphonia but she's still too into my GBA games right now.

Mario Party 5 and Animal Crossing, and Mario Kart for a while but she got sick of it....now I can't get her off my DS....she likes all the games for that....

The Mrs. loves:

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
SSX Tricky
SSX 3
SSX Out-of-Bounds
Resident Evil 4
Mario Power Tennis
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Super Monkey Ball
Super Monkey Ball 2
Donkey Konga
Donkey Konga 2

Ironically, she's the biggest Sims/Sims 2 (PC) fan I know, but hates the console versions.

As a member of the feminine gender I can wholeheartedly recommend this:

Do not hesitate! Buy it now and have her love you forever!

My girlfriend hates racing games but loves burnout big time.
Especially the crash mode in which you make the biggest crash.

She also loves super monkey ball, Metroid Prime, Prince of Persia Sand of Times and Super Smash Brothers

As much as I approve of all things Fire Emblem...My girlfriend can't understand why I love the series so much. I explained the game to her and after watching me for a few minutes all she had to say was "Ugh, too much thinking." :(

Any Mario Party, Super Monkey Ball 1 or 2, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, 1080 Avalanche, SSX3... That's all my fiance plays on my 'Cube.

animal crossing is the safest bet. It's practically made for girls!
Yeah, I'd have to go against Draggie on that one. FE is so not for the general ladies, however Animal crossing is perfect. All the lady friends in my group have it and are totally crazy about it. It's rather scary.

edit: didn't see that you already have AC. in that case get a DS with AC:WW. She'll love you for it.

Animal Crossing
Bust a Move 3000 - is this name for real?
Harvert Moon 1 & 2
Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue - If, and only if, she's a Hello Kitty fan.
Sims (series)
Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I've only dated two girls during the GC's lifecycle. One was a gamer anyway and played anything. The other liked Pikmin A LOT, though got frustrated at Monkey Ball namely Monkey Target. For some reason, we ended up playing Capcom Vs SNK 2 EO and that I believe was the last time I ever saw her.

My GF likes Soul Calibur 2, girls love kicking boy's asses :D

Same here.

Unfortunately I can't hold my own against THE BUTTON MASHING MASTER. Seriously its frustrating, I suck at fighting games anyways and losing to a girl everytime sucks :(

I enjoyed just about everyone has mentioned.

Pikmin duo
Mario Sunshine & Paper Mario 2
Beyond Good & Evil
Wind Waker
HM: Another Wonderful Life

And if she has the patience for rpgs, (why not...) Fire Emblem, Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia would be good.

Just added in extra bonus games that sometimes can be unpredictable reaction from females... I mean who knows. Gamefly's good for this, so be sure to rent and keep a few to see if she likes them.

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Bomberman Generations
Cubivore
Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
And if she's into HK, Hello Kitty Roller Resuce is for GC as well.

*runs into Mrs C's room*

PSO 1+2
PSO 3
Eternal darkness
Doshin
Dobutsu Banchou
Animal Crossing
Baten Kaitos
Warioworld
etc etc etc...

i don't think she's a good barometer tbh

Just don't do what I did, and use the c-stick to drown all your pikmin out of spite.

I still can hear the cry of "noooooooooooooooo" coming from her to this day. :lol

The obvious ones are Mario Kart, and all the Mario sports games.

The sleeper girl game on the Cube though is Beach Spikers Volleyball.

I think it's an amazing arcade sports game in the same vein as Virtua Tennis on the Dreamcast. My wife and me have spent many hours playing Beach Spikers together.

Generally any girl I've played games with loves the DS more than anything else. But for Gamecube they've really enjoyed Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart: Double Dash and Animal Crossing.

Find out what she likes by asking her. Women are like everyone else, as it turns out, and they have a broad spectrum of interests. It's easy to generalize and say they all love Bejewled or Tetris, but who doesn't?

Try playing games together with her and get her involved. It helps that my fiance is a gamer, but maybe you two can play games together, even if they're not multiplayer. A few weeks ago we just complete PoP: The Two Thrones in a round robin fashion; the same thing worked great for both RE4 and Shadow of the Colossus.

Currently, she's playing Dead or Alive 4 and bracing herself to make it through Condemned.

hmm that is true. although i just recommended Mario Kart and Animal Crossing because MOST girls I know love those games- as it turns out my ex-girlfriend's favorite game is Eternal Darkness...
So it's definately true that not all stereotypes ring true.

All the Super Mario Advances through GBA Player.

Any Panel de Pon / Tetris Attack rehash (never cared about the Pokemon skinned versions since I've always had the SNES hooked up, but I'm sure they would work just as well).

When we play together she likes to play Mortal Kombat DA, or hot shots golf and sled storm on the psx.

When i ask her what she wants she says i dunno...i picked up harvest moon:AWL on a guess and she plays it all of the time.

I think chibi robo, pikmin 2, and the new harvest moon:mm are ones she would really go for.

thanks again for your suggestions.
