Honestly the best part of the series.

Stupid question time: Was GSD a sequel to GS? i didn't finish GS; i got tired of it right after
the Desert Tiger (or whatever his name was) got killed.
He was a cool character.

Yeah it was, almost all the characters return, then there's this whole old school vs newschool thing and honestly there's too much talking in Destiny, but damn if I didnt love seeing the Archangel vs Minerva fights. Those are two awesome battleships.

A lot of people say Seed is better than Destiny but I think both fail equally where they do fail, and have enough high points to keep a person reasonably entertained. However both shows are horribly predictable.

"What Gundam Seed Destiny was REALLY about."

oh... And here I thought that you were going to say something like "recycled animation", "far too many recap episodes and flashbacks", or "unrealistic one-sided battles".

Haha, youre right about the recycled animation. I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed the increased amount. I didnt mind the one sided battles. Im willing to bank on the heroes cause thats what they are.

After Seed I was so tired of the heroes crying and moping and enemies taking advantage of it. It was good to see some major ass kicking.

The captain of the Archangel is probably the most hardcore solid character tho. Mwu is pretty close tho...

Tho the captain of the Minerva was pretty awesome too, better at tactics for sure.

QFT.

I gave up on Destiny after episode 22 or 23. Didn't Destiny just concluded?

Anyway, what I'm wondering is whether a Gundam that is cooler or more powerful than Freedom showed up in Destiny or not? As in, did the protaganist of Destiny end up getting a better robot or did he just stick to what he had all the way (can't remember the name of it though)?

I sped through Destiny. Whenever they started talking I would estimate how long the conversation would take and skip it by a few qualifications:

1.) Is the conversation about someone who died (LONG)

2.) Is it about current orders from the military (fairly short)

3.) Is it right after current orders have been given from the military and they are discussing the morality of the orders given by the military (HOLY SHIT LONG)

4.) Are the discussions just circular reasoning that sounds deep but its really not cause there's never resolution so wtf shut up and fight! (LONGEST EVER)

Freedom got an upgrade after being destroyed previously. Cagalli gets a gold shiny gundam that reflects beams, and gives it to Mwe. The main character of Destiny did get a cool gundam but it didnt matter since everyone turned badass at the end completely overshadowing any new gundam models.

Yes, it just ended recently.

Nope, and they even managed to downgrade Freedom to be less cool.

As in, did the protaganist of Destiny end up getting a better robot or did he just stick to what he had all the way (can't remember the name of it though)?

Got a better one but never figured out how to use it.

There is too much talking in Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny, and too much dead space boredom in Gundam Wing. I haven't actually enjoyed Gundam since old school 0083.

No, he didn't, emo Kira from GS, got replaced by emo psycho Shinn.
What?
In the last 10 episodes Shinn didn't even had a main-part.
It was all about Kira and Arthur destroying the freaking universe, because they are right and everybody else is wrong.

I think Rey put it best at the last episode. "But...he...the tomorrow."

Well no one was 'right' I just liked the Kira and Crew better than the bad guys. Luna was the only normal one of the ZAFT group honestly and I couldnt figure out why she didnt defect. Everyone else on that boat was F'N INSANE!

What i tried to say was that Kira left his emo/crying side in GS for good, in GSD he is the holier than thou kind of hero, Shinn takes over the crying in shame/angst/etc. part in GSD.

YA Kira isnt really holier than thou tho, there's plenty of doubts on that side of the fence, but as lacus said, you decide what you want to do and do it. I think they all sorta learned their lesson the first show.

it took athrun way too long to figure out where he was SUPPOSED to be.

So, no one was "right" but you liked the bad guys less.
Come on, have we see the same show?
It is clear from the beginning that Dil is a nutjob and that he has a evil Masterplan.
Come on he tries to kill Jesus.(or Kira or whatever...)

And what a brilliant plan it was.
Dil: Hey, let us give everybody jobs based on their DNA and fairy dust
Orb: No
Dil: I fukkin kill you
K&A: u r dead.

I mean what the hell?
All his evil masterplan was to give people jobs because of their DNA?
Stupid as it sounds, because in reality DNA does not decide for you how good you are at your job, but lets say this falls under the normal gundam assholephysics.(Mechs piloted by people who post on livejournal.com, psy powers etc....)
How does it protect from future war and why would everybody lose their Freedom(they could still live mostly their normal lifes, even if they must work at a 24/7 fast food shop.)

And for that he had to build a stardestroyer?

The hole script was complete whack and totally horrible.

well if you go by Gundam Seeds idea that since everyone think they're right, as long as there is convinction its oh hey ok! chairman had conviction lolz.

Plus luna and Shinn and Captain Gladys and fuck the crew of the Minerva were mostly normal. You spend half the season with them and its hard to think of them as the bad guys but hey there they are helping out mr evil.

I think the point of destiny was to make the concept of 'the enemy' murky enough to test the faith of every main character.

Unlike insane man Zala and Kruez or whatever, the Chairman had an idea of how to make his world a better place, rather than be on top, and honestly I think that sets him apart from the previous two villains.

Gundam Seed Destiny needed some more of this

and a better plot

Gundam Wing was a bit of a chore to sit through when they started up on the "Total Pacifism" storyline bit. I'm sure it was quite cutting edge social commentary in the land of the rising sun though, where pacifism actually is relevent as a visible governing principle. To me it was utter boredom though.

Yeah, let's spend an entire year watching an anime that basically has no plot twists or interesting character developments at all.

GSD episode 50 was the most rushed piece of shit I've ever seen. Hell, the Gundam fights were over before the halfway mark, and it leaves it so open ended for a third SEED series. Blah. Fuck you, Fukuda.
