What happened to Mario Baseball?

You know, the cartoony mascot one?

Did it turn into Pennant Chase when I wasn't looking, or is it just flying really, really under the radar?

I think it may be a filler holiday title or filler summer title like Mario Tennis or Mario Golf. I expect the same from DDR w/ Mario.

It was only announced at the end of last year. It's still coming, just like Kirby which was shown alongside it with nothing since.

Yeah, it's just under the radar. Namco has some involvement in this one, so I am interested to see how it turns out.

In Japan it's coming out in July, a week after Konami's Power Pro Baseball :D
Also, Kirby is due out on 23 June in Japan.
Everything's getting dates now.

I saw US dates for Zelda and KH2 too. Can anyone confirm these?
KH2 - 14 Sep
Zelda - 10 Oct

And when it comes out I will buy it in a hearbeat. I am a sucker for the Mario Sports games. They are just silly enough and simple for me to enjoy as I am not a sports nut.

My thoughts exactly. My GF and I have gotten countless hours of fun out of Mario Tennis. Baseball will be mine.

This game is also mine. I like Mario sports games. I'm also not a sports game fan too.
Mario Golf is my fav this gen. It's wacky enough for me to continue to play and it's deep enough for when you want to play seriously. I hope Mario Baseball achieves the same.

Mario Golf kicked ass on Cube and GBA. I love having my Ella character from the GBA on my GC, 420 yd drive and all :)

I just wish that the GC Golf had the miniature golf mode of the N64 version.

Zelda will be anywhere from the 15-21 of November. That is, unless they have something ELSE planned for that spot. It's always where they put their hope-to-be biggest title (except last year it was Paper Mario and not Metroid Prime).

EDIT: Another Bone fan? Sweet. All we need is a Smiley Bone. Heh.

I think it's strange that the only mention that Mario Baseball has on NoA's press site is in the pr from Japan and that the game doesn't have a listing.

BTW if I was planning on buying a Baseball game at all it would definitely be Mario Baseball since I loved Mario Golf so much (but like many others, I got sick of Mario Power Tennis in less than a rental).

GC Mario Tennis and Gol was the same deal. They showed, like, 2 shots of each years ago, and then nothing for a long time. Same with the Kirby coming up, and Starfox Assault had a similar deal, but at least was shown in playable form early :)

Fairly certain Paper Mario got released in October. I think their big game in the 15-21 range was supposed to be RE4 before it got delayed.

I worded that completely the wrong way. I meant that usually their big hit releases on that timeframe, but last year, the best selling original game turned out to be Paper Mario and not Metroid Prime 2 for them.

Actually, MM was released in October and did better than any other N64 games that year too (Banjo-Tooie got the November date IIRC).
