What if Nintendo used quantum computing to become profitable in parallel universes?

Recently, I've been reading Michio Kaku's Hyperspace (a good high-level overview for anyone, like me, who's interested in pocket dimensions, inverted timelines, and basic superstring theory). Anyways, when I reached the chapter on quantum computing, I felt my entire body shiver with excitement!! In case you don't know what a quantum computer is, it's a computer which performs calculations simultaneously in multiple parallel universes before returning the results from ALL the universe to our own. This allows it to complete calculations several orders of magnitude faster than traditional processors.

I started thinking...what if the Revolution was powered by a quantum computing processor? Sure, the specs we know for the Revolution appear weaker than the PS3 and the Xbox 360...to a stationary observer in our universe! But if Nintendo were to harness the power of the infinite multiverse, the Revolution could deliver a gaming experience far beyond anything gamers have ever seen--and at a fraction of the cost!!

Anyways, I'm really excited about what quantum computing might mean for the Revolution's future. What do you think?

Wouldn't that mean that the Revolution would be even more underpowered in the parallel universes where the power is drained from?

A machine with such parallel processing function would immediately become self aware and then do nothing but loop itself in soliptic reasoning of its immobile existence.
 
what if someone in a paralles universe is trying to hog your Revolution, yourself for instance?

can't have that all the time, and I know myself all too well.
 
You'd better go into hiding. Nintendo Ninjas have been dispatched to look for the person who was foolish enough to reveal their Revolution MEGATON secret.
 
Game enthusiasts would quickly realize that something extra was at work.
But I'm sure that Nintendo's target audience with the Revolution wouldn't notice.

 
One of Kaku's basic thoughts is that like an electron, multiple universes can exist simultaneously in different states.

So in essence there is already an universe where Nintendo is the market leader of home consoles, as well as an universe where the Nintendo PlayStation project was done.
 
This is either sarcasm at its very best, or fanboy speculation at its worst. Either way it made me laugh hard so good job. Thursdayton part 2 possibly?

Is the instability at the quantum level a real instability, or just a percieved instability, because we can't measure at the quantum level?

Hrrrmm.
If the console works in a parallell universe, would it be possible for the controller to do the same? If so, the revmote will have more buttons than the other next-gen controllers.
 
When I read what this thread was about, I looked left expecting to see that the poster was Gahiggidy or someone like that. Still, A+ for effort, it's one of the more original Revolution threads I've seen. Also, JackFrost needs to read "Quarantine" by Greg Egan.

Even beyond that the revolution has a direct connection to the processing capacity of the future OMEGA POINT :D
 
Wi-Fi distributed computing FTW.

Connect to the Nintendo RS service and you'll have the computing power of 10s if not 100s of 360's in one machine.

Or not.

Of course, the big problem is that, according to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, measuring sales data will actually alter how many Revolutions are sold.
 
It really is a Revolution, an inter-dimensional one. In a parallel dimension, the DS success allowed Nintendo to form a powerful empire in Japan! Not content with decimating the console opposition in that world, Fuhrer Satoru Iwata spent millions of R&D on breaking into dimensions where Nintendo was not completely dominant. In each dimension existed loyal mind-slaves, eager to set up whatever little box 'The Big N' tells them too. Even willing to pay for it over and over again!

When Revolution is launched, something horrible is going to come through that little box into our world. Only the human power of X360 and the power of Cell can save us now.

For some reason, Michio Kaku spoke at my high school... it was one of the most interesting lectures I ever had the chance to attend.
 
What? I thought they were using the Revolution quantum computer to go back in time and snatch the computing calculations of all PS2s purchased prior to 2006. The PS3 will help sell the X360 and the PS2 will power the Revolution.
 
What if the new controller didn't just move in 3+1 dimensions, but actually curved spacetime itself when you moved it? Forget rumble feedback -- how cool would it be if you actually invoked a local singularity? The very concept of "game length" would be obsoleted -- it would look like you were playing for millions of years, even though you had actually finished the game!

I'm a little worried about what happens if the CPU crashes and opens a up a black hole in my living room. I'd rather take my chances with their contemporary epilepsy-inducing products
