What Is Sony Now?

Sony used to be one of the few brands I was very loyal to; though they were expensive I always equated that with premium quality. Now I just see them as overpriced and out of touch.

As Steve Jobs would say, what you need is PASSION and GREAT PRODUCTS, focus in a few thing that you are great with and put your company the objective to be the very best with them. The Sony of today is a behemont where the left right doesn't know where the right left goes.

Putting the house in order, what Stringer has attempted, won't suffice. You may be more effective, but you go nowhere without AMAZING PRODUCTS because at the end, that's what you need. Sony needs a visionary and some craziness right now, they need a Kuratagi, a Morita, someone with that kind of magic to make something amazing.

It's really sad when one company like Apple or Sony gets in this state. It happened with Apple, it´s happening with Sony. Brilliant companies with amazing products becoming grey and sad.

It's funny you bring Steve up because I just saw an ad on Youtube for Sony's new online music service, which after reading the Jobs Biography, is especially interesting given just how much Sony executives hate itunes but suck too much to create a proper alternative.

Sony needs me. I'd lead them into the AR/VR frontier. I'm sorry bitches, but that's technological end game. If you don't get there first, then someone else will.

The Sony Music guy was right. It´s not that he "hated it", he just hated the idea that Apple was doing successfully something Sony should be in better position to do. He found hilarious that Apple had the final word on the price and distribution of content, without content. The ipod was worthless without music, and Apple had no music to sell after all, but there they were, basically because most music companies were terribly scared and they grabbed the ipod as a lifesaver.
