Call me lame, but I really have to choose No Country For Old Men. I'm a bad human being, and have not seen Schindler's List yet.

Annie Hall, On the Waterfront, The Godfather and Amadeus.

That is indeed a pretty unremarkable list.

Why did you leave out 1927-1937?

1. Casablanca
2. It Happened One Night
3. Annie Hall
4. Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans
5. No Country For Old Men

But the list of winners really goes to show how irrelevant the Academy Awards actually are (Rocky beating Network will never cease to amaze me), despite being the highest annual achievement in film.

Top five from that list:

1. Casablanca
2. Schindler's List
3. Annie Hall
4. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
5. Lawrence of Arabia

I never really care for the Godfather flicks, tbh

As much as we all agree on this, you know we will still all be sitting in front of our televisions on Oscar night and bitching about the "winners." Basically, the Oscars are all about Hollywood patting itself on the back, and not much else.

No Country for Old Men
American Beauty
Oliver

I haven't seen many of them. :(
I was going to say where's To Kill A Mockingbird but it came out in the same year as Lawrence of Arabia :lol goddamn

I guess my top three would be:
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Unforgiven
No Country For Old Men

I've only seen, I think, 19 of them though.

1. Amadeus
2. Schindler's List
3. The Last Emperor
4. Annie Hall
5. In The Heat of the Night

Honorable Mentions: The Godfather I & II, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, No Country for Old Men

Return of the King tops the list but beyond that there's no way I could order my favorites from that list, there's too many great movies.

My Top 5

1. The Godfather
2. The Departed
3. Braveheart
4. Schindler's List
5. Forrest Gump

I haven't seen all of those movies, but there are a few on that list that really surprise me that they won Best Picture.

Gotta say that the 80s choices were mostly terrible outside of Platoon. Ever since 1990 they have done reasonably well in picking movies with appeal. 1977 still remains a travesty however.

Overall Braveheart would be my number one choice. Followed closely by Gladiator, Titanic, Dances with Wolves, and then Unforgiven.
