I agree, Samux. A 2.5D Metroid would be welcome, or at least a third-person action title. I just don't get the same feel without the proper screw attack, shinespark, space jump, etc. that are lost in the Prime games. I don't like it as much as the classic games, and I'm curious to see the power of a modern console used to do a Metroid game that's not from a FPS perspective.
But I can't rag on Nintendo too hard for the direction the console Metroids have taken, as long as they continue to put forth excellent entries in the series' old school style like Fusion and Zero Mission.
