What type of DELETER are you?

What are your file deletion habits? Do you send your files to the recycling bin or do you have your OS configured to delete them immediately? Do you right-click, then choose delete or do you prefer to drag-and-drop to the recycling bin? Do you empty your recycling bin as soon as files are in it or do you let the files linger for a period of time(days/weeks?) before you empty it? Or, perhaps, might you use a scheduler to empty it automatically?

edit: SHIFT+DELETE? You learn something new every day.

Shift+Delete 100% of the time. Not really best practice but it's habit now, never use the recycle bin.

Ha.

For someone so detailed you forgot the delete button on the keyboard.

delete button and then i empty my recycle bin before the day is over

I just right click and delete, I'l empty the bin when Im cleaning up my desktop. I usually clean my desktop when I'm motivated from doing household chores.. I'm lazy guy so I clean every 2 days or so.

Gotta love this shift and delete. I'm down for pro pc tips when ever I get the chance to use them.

If I'm on my Windows partition I just delete and then empty the Recycle Bin. If I'm using Ubuntu I just let the files there and never delete them.

I hoard. Never know when something might come in handy (it rarely does).

When I do delete I usually just use the delete button and empty the recycle bin at some point later on

Shift + Delete, because I'm likely to just empty the recycle bin anyway.

I usually keep pixel art related stuff, especially things I may need to go back to, though I like to delete crappy or embarrassing stuff from time to time.

I never use my recycle bin and I use shift-delete, if I know I'm gonna delete it right now, why bother wasting my own time with clicking other stuff.

I only came in this thread to make a Metroid joke. Seeing that it's already been made leaves me with but no choice but to answer the actual question.

I highlight and delete. As in, I highlight it, go to recycle bin, and empty that. I have been told this is not an effective way of deleting stuff.

right click it and delete to the recycle bin.

I still have the recycle bin on my desktop and if i ever look up at and it see its full i proceed to empty recycle bin there are times where its gotten to 80 items and i'm ZOMG danger danger why did it build up so big.

I just let my files go into the recycle bin... I delete stuff so everything stays clean and organized, not because my hard drive is full.

Only time I Shift+Delete is when I'm removing duplicate files (like if I download something twice by accident)

Merciless shift-deleter. I refuse to ever have anything sit in my Recycling Bin. In the rare case that I use it, it's just for a few minutes while I do something that I know I might want to undo, then emptied as soon as I'm comfortable.

I have shift-deleted my way to disaster more than once, but it is the only way to live.

Same. If there's a file not serving a purpose, it goes to the recycle bin. I always let my items sit in the recycling bin. It was numbering in the hundreds of gigs before I finally emptied it. Currently at 34 gb.

I delete everything once I don't need it anymore, some files I might upload to the cloud before deletion though, but it all goes. I love CCleaner.
