What were the old Revolution rumored specs?

Like rumored a few months, wasn't it G5 processors or something?

I'm wondering how that power compared now to the Xbox 360.

I doubt they'll have been anything concrete... didn't we have an estimated core ATI were going with for 360 too? I don't think we have the equivilents to enough variables where Revolution is concerned to make comparisons.

I would like to see any rumored specs again though

Q: What are Revolution's technical specs?

A: Currently unknown.

Rumors abound indicated that Nintendo could separately be working on two systems and that ultimately one would be chosen for retail. System 1 allegedly featured a 2.7GHz PowerPC G5 processor, 512MBs of RAM, and a 600MHz graphics chip. System 2 allegedly featured dual 1.8GHz PowerPC G5 processors. 256MBS of DDR Main Memory RAM, 128MBS of GDDR3 Video RAM and a 500MHz graphics chip. Both systems allegedly featured a built in 15GB hard drive. As of this time, these rumors cannot be validated.

More recent hearsay from development studios working closely with Nintendo suggest that Revolution's power is on track to compete with Microsoft's forthcoming successor to Xbox. Some studios have suggested that Revolution could be slightly underpowered when stacked side by side with Microsoft's next system, but that the differences would be marginal. Other sources maintain that the recently reported Xenon hardware specs exactly mimicked internal hardware documentation for Revolution. Again, none of this information can yet be validated.

In March 2005, both IBM and ATI confirmed that they have been making the CPU and GPU for Revolution respectively.

I think those specs were originally from www.n-sider.com.

Hell Nintendo wouldn't even give specs last year, andI doubt they will this year, with rumors sayings that we'dd be lucky to even get a demo for the next system.

It sounds very comparable to the XBox 360, at least as far as graphical power goes. It may be a little less powerful though it sounds like.

You mean the N-Sider stuff?

Now, a bit of clarification is necessary here. We have two sets of specs to talk about. Supposedly Nintendo has two sets of benchmark specifications they're working with, and one will be chosen when they are closer to actual development. We'll talk about both in the analysis.

System 1:
-2.7 Ghz PowerPC G5 Processor
-512 Megs total Ram (128 for video, 64 for sound)
-600 Mhz graphics chip

System 2:
-Dual 1.8 Ghz IBM G5 PowerPC processors
-256 Megs DDR Main memory (64 dedicated to sound, using a 7.1 sound system at 196 Khz)
-128 Megs GDDR3 Video memory
-500 Mhz graphics chip (ATI developed, 16 Pixel Pipe, 220 Million transistors)

Shared Information:
-Built in 15 Gigabyte harddrive
-Blue-laser disk technology
-Potential DVD playback
-Case design philosophy more like the N64, less like the GameCube

Ah, I remember those old rumours ...

The working title is Game Boy Evolution. Current designs are flip-tops with backlit screens similar to GBA SP, though it'll use GameCube-style tiny DVD's. Graphics should be slightly more powerful than that seen on the Sega Dreamcast. Bluetooth technology will be built-in. Apparently, the new system will be compatible with previous Game Boy games, which will be downloaded to the system through a device similar to a hard drive.
