Bloc Party are just fucking amazing. I expect them to take over from Franz Ferdinand in the UK media's 'This band are the best thing ever!1' title when this hits on the 14th.

Shame Little Thoughts didn't make it on the album as something like Blue Light or Price of Gas just aren't as godly as Little Thoughts is.

No matter, one will have a great time on Friday seeing these sexy bitches live. :D

I've settled on this being the better of the two. Digital Ash is still super hot, but this edges it out.

US version. I want my guitar. I know all these songs by heart. Actually, I probably could do a working rendition of about 75% of the Clash library. I miss my guitar.

Hasn't left the car cd player since I got it. I'm usually listening to it whenever I'm on the pc... I should really grab some new cds, but it's too good.

also check out (if you can find it) Molina's solo demo recordings of the entire album, including several tracks that didn't make the final album. Peoria Lunchbox Blues sounds 10x better without Scout Niblett's caustic whine and a much more relaxed setting. i believe it was released as a bonus CD with the album during its initial release.

in terms of what i'm listening to now -

460758.JPG

one of the best baroque recordings i've ever heard.

has filled the void that Neutral Milk Hotel left in the wake of Mangum's exile.

The new live Magnolia Electric Co. disc is fucking amazing, too. Trials & Errors, you should totally get on that, White Man. I like it better than the studio record. I can't wait for the new full length, fuck.

Barely anything of late. I don't even take my Minidisc out with me anymore. I need some recommendations. I quite fancy the Killers album. What else would be along those lines? Maybe with some 80s electronic new wave influences for good measure?

But goddamn I heard some group called the Futureheads cover of Kate Bush's Hounds of Love. I could have cried, they murdered it so badly. I really am starting to despise punk/garage covers. They can have the best original material in the world, but as soon as they cover anything, they decimate any spirit the original had.

Does anybody have an mp3 of Bloc Party's "Staying Fat?"

I've been listening to a lot of David Bowie, Electric Six's cover of Queen's "Radio Ga Ga," Colin Meloy's Morrissey EP, Picaresque, the new Brendan Benson, Beck's "Guero," and Annie's Anniemal.
