That's two strikes against Tim and Nintendo!
I disagree. I don't think Majesco had it in them to market the game properly. Psychonauts, like much of Schafer's work, is very Tim Burton-esque, and if Tim Burton's movies like Corpse Bride can be number one at the box office, I don't see why there wouldn't be an audience for a game like Psychonauts. I'm not saying that the movie and game markets straddle each other a lot, but that there's obviously marketable appeal.Ghost said:I love Schafers games but i dont think any amount of marketing would have convinced the average gamer to play psychonauts, too wierd, too fruity.
The guy is a genius but I dont see any publishers making a profit out of his creations in todays market.
And the Monkey Island franchise :xHimuro said:......?
Huh?!
MI4: Escape From Monkey Island. Great production values, but the interface is just so much worse than the classic point-and-click adventures.Himuro said:You've got to me kidding me man.
Monkey Island 3? I haven't played that one yet.
i agree on the fact that a shaffer nintendo collabration would totally rock but i think the question is how would nintendo's "we should always have total control over everything" vs tim shaffer's " experimental, innovative aproach to gamemaking 101 with super freedom" would go together?Drinky Crow said:Nintendo hates creativity, and they also have basic quality standards for their derivative Mario-whored schlock.

In fact, he probably laughs in your face. He did it on his website, he'll do it anywhere.
