Last I heard hes currently looking for a publisher to fund his new game. Not surprisingly, hes having a lot of difficulty. Too bad, becuase I think he is one of the best

Nintendo is the only way.

I'd really like to see him working on a new classic adventure game like Grim Fandango, but probably that's a dream.... :(

unemployment wtfreak?! how can someone that great be unemployed if hes VERY GOOD

If he's so good, why did the game horribly bomb?

Numbers don't lie. He's finished.

Embezzling is a sin, and sinners go to hell.

Fans are fans, especially those outspoken on forums, but fans need to speak with their buying power at the store. They didn't, and Psychnauts bombed.

Superior games get superior sales.

So it is written.

So shall it be.

I love Schafers games but i dont think any amount of marketing would have convinced the average gamer to play psychonauts, too wierd, too fruity.

The guy is a genius but I dont see any publishers making a profit out of his creations in todays market.

Nintendo hates creativity, and they also have basic quality standards for their derivative Mario-whored schlock.

That's two strikes against Tim and Nintendo!

You may be onto something.

Let us bring down the tyranny that is Schafer together.

No more embezzlement, no more schlock games.

I disagree. I don't think Majesco had it in them to market the game properly. Psychonauts, like much of Schafer's work, is very Tim Burton-esque, and if Tim Burton's movies like Corpse Bride can be number one at the box office, I don't see why there wouldn't be an audience for a game like Psychonauts. I'm not saying that the movie and game markets straddle each other a lot, but that there's obviously marketable appeal.

You've got to me kidding me man.

Monkey Island 3? I haven't played that one yet.
MI4: Escape From Monkey Island. Great production values, but the interface is just so much worse than the classic point-and-click adventures.

i agree on the fact that a shaffer nintendo collabration would totally rock but i think the question is how would nintendo's "we should always have total control over everything" vs tim shaffer's " experimental, innovative aproach to gamemaking 101 with super freedom" would go together?

Does Tim know we love him?

He probably pretends you don't exist if you have a Gamecube.

In fact, he probably laughs in your face. He did it on his website, he'll do it anywhere.

This is our war.

We will not stand to watch as sinners suck out what fun was left in gaming for personal profit!

Embezzlers - BEGONE

Innovators - BEGONE

THIS IS OUR TIME, AND WE WILL BE DONE WITH YOUR "PSEUDO-INNOVATIVE" FAUX MINDTRICKS. NO MORE.

so anybody have the highlights of the interview from him from Play magazine?!

why do people have random avatars of photo shoots of random looking people

According to the new PSM he's already working on a PS3 (and probably X360) game. PSM named Psychonauts one of the top 10 PS2 titles of 2005 and mentioned it at the end of the paragraph.
