Where did all the PSP hype go?

Dead wrong. Dark Cloud is arguably the worst ARPG to ever come out of Sony. Worse than Alundra 2 or The Granstream Saga even. By a lot.

DC2 was pretty great and a gigantic fucking improvement... but it's still too unfocused and loose to be the best ARPG ever. That top spot's still shared by Alundra, Land Stalker, Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask.

Well, at least I know for sure to never trust your opinion on game quality. :D

The battery died. OH SNAP!

(Seriously, I have four games, and the only one that I find myself playing for any substantial amount of time is Lumines. Go figure.)

I'm sorry, but I have to put this right up there with the proclamation that Kirby's Air Ride is a great game that you just have to give 60 hours to get going.

You're welcome to your opinion, but it's a wrong one.

Somedays I think your account has been hacked or you left your computer on for your little brother. Not very often, but sometimes.

Wow, I'm surprised to see people rallying in defense of Dark Cloud, the game's utter shit. Annoying weapon maintenance, painful visuals, braindead random dungeons, shallow georama mode... it was one of the first PS2 titles I bought (having loved Actraiser, which I'd heard the game superficially compared to) and came away exteremly dissapointed. It was like Dark Savior round 2, totally wasted potential. Dark Cloud 2 was like a miracle, pullings back on track and showing Level 5 was actually capable of halfway decent game design... but it's still second to Dual Hearts in it's core design, much less greats like Alundra. Hopefully Dark Cloud 3 will be just as much of a leap forward. :)

And Bobby, DW fans aren't exactly fit to be casting stones concerning game quality. :P

After 2 years, you think you'd stop being surprised. But someday, I'm sure it'll hit you. ;)

MOST PEOPLE LOVE DARK CLOUD 2. It's my top PS2 game ever, ahead of MGS3, GOW, R&C, Sly, whatever. I thought the original Dark Cloud missed the target, but I still really enjoyed it and actually liked it's georama better.

Well, amazed might be a better word for it. Dark Cloud = videogame scat.

See, deep down we really agree. I liked DC2 too.

Dark Cloud was ATROCIOUS. Dark Cloud 2 was a vast improvement, and still sucked ass.

If a developer doesn't have a fucking clue how to design a randomized dungeon, they shouldn't touch the concept. Though, to be fair, Untold Legends' random dungeons are many levels below even the Dark Cloud games.

IMHO, of course.

Dark Cloud was good.

Repetitive? Sure, but it was fun. Good memories building towns.

I still never could beat that last boss...so so hard.
