Where does REmake rank in terms of difficulty?

After having finished my first time through Resident Evil: Deadly Silence on the DS, I've found myself overcome with RE nostalgia. Now I'm tempted to give REmake on the 'Cube a try. The only problem is I am just plain lousy at RE games in general, so I'm afraid I'd never reach the end of the game.

For those of you who have played it, how would you rank REmake against prior RE titles, as far as how hard they are to complete?

I like the "safety" weapons thing that gives you a last ditch chance to avoid being bit, and you can select an easy difficulty (hiking!) in the beginning of the game. I don't remember it being that hard.

Code Veronica I thought was the hardest (which isn't saying much).

Hmm maybe, cant really remember... but I do remember that I had problems with ammo in CV... but was much easier the second time I played thru it.

I havent played RE0

waaay harder than RE4 IMO
but RE0, RECVX are both harder than REmake, with RE0 being the hardest RE probably
i'd rank em like this

RE0>RECVX>REmake>RE3>RE2>RE4

*minor spoiler* fighting the tyrant on the back of that cargo plane was a b**ch

For one, it had those cameras that, if they spoted you, sent Hunters, it also had some pretty challenging puzzles. Also, there was a lot of items you could miss the first time through. There are three parts in the game that are the hardest. 1. When you're in the airplane fighting the tyrant. 2. When Mutated Steve is chasing you with the Axe and 3. the last boss (having to aim the plasma gun). All three of those were difficult if you didn't have the right ammo and enough herbs.

So CVX is harder than REmake? Really? I guess I didn't put enough time into it yet with REmake. When I played CVX, I was so damned pack with ammo, I was walking gun shop, hundred of bullets for my handgun, like over a hundred arrows of various kinds, and dozens upon dozens of grenade types, and of course the powerful as hell magnum with crapload of ammo to spare.

It was that the knife was damn powerfully useful, shoot them down or try to slice at a zombie's legs, and start knifing like mad on the fallen body, especially the long way. The knife really came in handy with my ammo saving frugal ways.

Definitely choose easy mode if you're unsure about the difficulty. When you first start out, it asks if you prefer hiking or mountain climbing; choose "hiking" for easy mode. If you enjoy the game enough, you'll probably want to play through it again with the other character, so you can always bump it up to normal difficulty then if you're ready.

Out of the main RE games, I'd say RE0 is the hardest and RE2 is the easiest.

I agree there was tons of ammo, probably the most in any original RE game, but there were parts in the game where that didn't matter (as I listed)

I thought CODE: Veronica was the easiest when it came to playing on the highest difficulty modes. RE0 or RE1 are the hardest, depending.

I always end up w/ too much shotgun ammo & herbs in the end.

The only difficulty you'll be having is managing the lousy inventory space.

To me, a RE game's difficulty comes from how much danger the player is in if they play conservatively rather than blasting everything.

REmake is the hardest, easily. The crimson heads are the main reason this is so, and are the best addition IMO.

Veronica is straight up the easiest Resident Evil since I was on a boat with a Guncon. The player is flooded with ammunition in that game. Using my typical conservation techniques, I would finish with one % weapon full and another half full, plenty of grenade rounds, and shit tons of those arrow things.

Is Zero could be considered difficult (and I prefer it not even considered a RE game) then it is because those leech zombies take so many shots if you aren't carrying a molotov and the shotgun takes up two f*cking inventory slots.

I feel RE2 is fairly hard as well, played conservatively, and I'd rank it under REmake.

RE3 is middle road. Run from Nemesis and you won't have much trouble.

RE4 is also very easy; but this is understandable enthusiasticaly forgiven considering how the series changed.
