I don't really have a phone now, and I was thinking of making my primary phone a cell. I don't want anything fancy....don't want text messaging and shit like that. All I want is a cell phone with good reception, voice message and callerID. Where should I go to get one, and what phone should I look at? Also, what do I need to do to get service for it, or is that something that I could take care of at the store?

Do you have GSM? If you have GSM it will be a simple matter for you to get a new phone as all you need to do is switch the chip.

A Nokia 3390 sounds like what you want, just a simple cell phone. It has good reception, caller ID, and it's built like a brick. Cell providers hand them out like candy so you'll be able to get one free with service (depending on carrier anyway).

Most if not all cell carriers have some kind of free phone option. However, if you browse around amazon.com, you'll see that you can get a much nicer phone for free(after rebates anyway) than what the carrier can provide.
