I've come to the conclusion that there isn't any console (let alone xbox) on sale here in San Antonio :/

With my new job, I've been looking forward to buying myself the system + some games

Wal-Mart says they won't expect any til late Feb

WTF

Saw a kid and his dad walked into GameStop. They asked for an X-Box, and the sales clerk replied they don't hav any. Wonder why these stores leave their display X-Box boxes on the front window?

In the UK they were restocked (with PS2) Thurs/Friday....but by all accounts that stock has already sold out over weekend. :(

just before Christmas I couldnt find an Xbox anywhere. I was trying to replace my broken one. this was like 3 days before Christmas. I finally ordered one from walmart.com and got it like a week later.

EDIT: thought about it for a second, searched their site, they seem to be out of stock now.

I honestly can't understand why anyone would want to buy a new system this late in the game. The new systems are coming soon. The Xbox 2 is less than a year away. Maybe it would be worth it if the systems only cost $79-$99 but $149 is ridiculous. If anything you should wait until E3 for a price drop. Who knows, maybe Xbox 2 will be backwards compatible. If that's the case, using that $150 towards the purchase of an Xbox 2 would be a much better option imo. If you've waited this long you might as well wait just a little while longer.

And still nobody buys the cube, it's sad :/ Nintendo dropped their prices so low that they pushed themselves out of the competition, the hardware isn't even viewed as in the same league with the xbox/ps2.. Sad, sad, sad..

most people arent early adopters in any way shape or form and I dont think cost is always a factor. we still dont know a lot about all of the new systems coming out. maybe hes decided at this point that the xbox has everything he wants right now.

I heard this while stumbling about in a drunken stupor at a Christmas party, but I'm under the impression that Microsoft isn't producing Xboxes anymore. Had something to do with the deal they struck (and the massive numbers/cost) to manufacture Xbox 2.

Because they just love fat bitchy women yelling, "THEN WHY DON'T YOU TAKE DOWN THOSE BOXES, THEN!?"

Though even if that wasn't it, GameStops get all the systems several times a week (and sell out within a day), so it'd be pretty ridiculous to be take down dozens of boxes, find something else to display in the space, get consoles in, put back up all the boxes and repeat every day. In some chains, the boxes are probably paid advertising space even, so it'd be a contractual obligation to keep them up.

I bet those morons won't even buy the next gen systems at launch.. They'll probably get 3-5 years of good use out of their $100-150 systems even!

1) I didn't like any of the games that came out for the xbox for years. Was going to get one when there was at least 5 good games and decent Live! games.
2) I'm going to do the same for Xbox 2
3) $149.99 versus $99 isn't much of a difference when you make $2k a pay check.
4) Cockles you said you were going to get me the Matrix Collection in spite of how much I hate the sequels. Where's my dvds
