So what game do you guys think will win the GOTY from the majority of sites and publications?

My guess is Halo 2.

edit 2: Half Life 2 will, industry wide, be considered the GOTY.

Consoles is a much tighter race. It will end up going to GTA SA, because it doesn't dissapoint as a sequel and remains highly visible; MGS3 and Halo 2 both satisfying only one of those two prerequisites.

What the hell are you talking about? 290k isn't exactly low either, it was out for a total of 12-15 days, plus GTA: SA and Halo 2's hype/sales (as I've said before) ECLIPSED anything out that month. 290k isn't low, it's just poor standards for an MGS game, I can only see it getting better and since when have sales really mattered when it comes to GOTY? PSM have already named MGS 3 has their GOTY. Jeez.

Again, what the fuck has sales got to do with anything? You've strayed past your first point. MGS 3 is on par with each of those games, and is a huge candidate.

Should that be true, then they based their GOTY choice on it being a Japanese game, and not because it sold well. So prior dumb comments are consequently null and we're now onto the theory that the PSM staff must want to be Japanese people because they chose MGS3.

Granted, "look like" is a conditional qualification. "Are" is surely to follow.
