I've not used the X360, but I have to say that I've never used an HP machine where the trackpad didn't make me want to smash it with a hammer until it reached back through time and haunted everyone involved in it's creation.

Let me start off by saying that I'm only interested in these two, so don't try to sell me on other laptops ;)

The contestants:

The 13 inch HP Pavilion X360 (there's a 750gb HDD version as well) -
http://m.store.hp.com/webapp/wcs/st...ch&pgGrp=search#/choices/choice/G3S52AV.Color

and the Lenovo Yoga 2 (13" model) -

Which one is the Better one of these two?

It's impossible to answer if you don't tell us what you want out of an laptop. There are tons of different scenarios based on what you are looking for. Battery, portability, power, screen, quality of trackpad/keyboard, ergonomics, build quality (No keyboard flex, no bendy lcd, no glossy display, no fingerprint magnet), temperatures, noise, warranty, price and so on and so forth...

Only clicked on the default links in the OP, implication of SSD or SSHD in the Lenovo alone puts that ahead of the 500GB 5400rpm drive in option 1.

Only default links natch but thats what was quoted

HP Pavilion x360 is a pretty low quality device. It has aluminiun, but it's slow and the screen has terrible angle of viewings and not all that comfortable keyboard

Yoga 2 is better built, has a lot better screen, better (altough still far from perfect keyboard), is thinner and lighter, plus it lasts a lot longer on battery.

So go for Yoga.

Also...anyone who wants to buy any laptop should just go and read reviews on http://www.notebookcheck.net/
Some of their parts are subjective, but while reviews on other sites are mostly subjective, those on Notebookcheck are filled with insane ammounts of tests, measurements and benchmarks. So you can actually directly compare those laptops and decide which one you want.

Problem is; almost every retailer has a different model, so even when you're comparing prices you end up comparing machines with different memories, HDD'S, processors etc.

True. Noteboookcheck usually has multiple versions reviews, but nobody can review i all. Still..the parts are mostly the same, so you can just decide which will be more powerful and if it;s worth the price. But with laptops things like temperature, comfort, viewing angles, weight, battery etc count a lot more than hardware power

Alienware is also prepping a new 13-one-inch-thick laptop this november; http://www.cnet.com/products/alienware-13/

I like how it has two fans. They claim throttling and overheating wont be a popular like on some of the other gaming laptops like Razer Blade which quickly hits high 80s-90s temps and starts throttling down. 8 hours of battery is good too, but I am not sure about the ULV processors. can they even run games?
