There was a comedy duo in Japan called 99. (i would say almost a troupe given the number of times I watched them invite their friends on for mayhem)

They would do stuff that had me in tears. They had one "game" where they pair people up and put them in swim gear. The pair would walk out onto a platform then have their noses plugged so they couldn't anything very well. Then someone would come out and feed them something and they had to guess what it was BUT they couldn't give each other hints if they knew what it was. Then they would have like a minute i think to figure it out. And they would have to say it at the same time on the count of 3. If they guessed right, nothing happened, if they guessed wrong, they would be dropped 8 to 10 feet into a pool of ice water. Like there would be ice floating in the water.
They would do other things too. Another one that cracks me up is the studio would pick a restaurant. Then the gang would go with a special guest. Then, with no prices, they had to spend as close to a targey dollar amount as they could. Loser was the one furthest from the price and they would have to pay for everyone's meal in cash. But you would have cocky people who would say I'm only bringing $50 usd equivelant. Holy cow, it might not sound funny, but before dessert, the host would say, ok the person furthest away from the price is $X so then people start stacking up desserts (they eat everything so it isn't wasteful.) My wife and I would watch as guests who have no idea about fancy cuisines would be ordering food like there is no tomorrow, thinking about how much they would pay for something, not the actual price.
I'm telling you some of the stuff these guys did was really funny. If you can find some stuff online that maybe is translated a bit, I would check them out.
They had another one where they suspended the troupe above a pool of ice water and had them try to fall asleep. Last one to fall asleep (they were wearing monitors and a sleep doctor was also consulting with them) would get dropped in the pool via a trapdoor under their futon. Above them were lights and as a person fell asleep, a light went off. When there were only a couple of lights left, the remaining people would be trying to go to sleep but their monitors were showing them as stressed out. They would try to fake but the doctor is like, no, he's not sleeping.
Super funny
Sorry so long.
