Thats a lil gone too far.

Already picked up a couple of new releases. KCD2 and Split Fiction.

Doom and Avowed would have been there if not for gamepass.

Ninja Gaiden 4
Ninja Gaiden Ragebound
Shinobi
Oblivion

I'll probably get these games day one. Any other games I'll be looking for a sale.

Death Stranding 2, Judas, GTA6..... those may be too difficult to resist. IF the latter two release this year that is.

I am working through my GIANT backlog right now though so I am trying to spend less in 2025 having spent hundreds the last few years and invested in a PS5 pro.

I have Elden Ring Night Reign pre-ordered. Other than that, I can't think of anything that has me that interested this year, which is fine. I have a significant backlog from 2023 and 2024 that I'm still working on. Example, I got Lords of the Fallen for Xmas two years ago. I just started playing it two weeks ago.

I already have a few games lined up like Clair Obscur, Mafia: The Old Country, Tainted Grail, Layton on Switch, Gothic Remake (if it releases this year), Trails in the Sky 1st, Oblivion remaster, Yes Your Grace Snowfall, Old Skies, etc

I have a huge backlog that I want to clear.

Oblivion remake will be a day one, but technically I'm not buying it as it'll be on Gamepass.

Yes!

I'm planning to buy lot of games this year including Switch 2system, Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.

Not judging anyone, but it seems weird not to be able and find a single game within a year you want to buy. I'm struggling not to buy dozens of games as I don't have the time, but they keep coming.

I get that everyone has different tastes—what some people rave about, others can't stand. But honestly, looking at this year's lineup, I haven't seen a single game that I actually want to buy. Nothing's caught my interest at all. As a PC gamer, I won't be seeing GTA VI until 2027, and the Switch 2 went from being a big deal to a complete letdown in my book. Maybe I'm just being a pessimist, and maybe there are some great releases coming in 2025, but so far, there's nothing I'm excited to play. The only potential exception is Hades II, but even then, I'm still on the fence.

It's Ok to move on to another hobby, tbh.

Given the sheer amount and diversity of what should be quality games showing up this year, if you can't find something that appeals to you, it may be time to tell yourself some hard truths. And that's fine.

I was just thinking how it would be great if gaming industry crashed for 3 years and didn't produce any games whatsoever so I could catch up on my backlog and wishlist.

Unfortunately it is not crashing so there are still more games coming that interest me (Clair Obscur 33, Bloodlines 2, Gothic, Industria 2, Mafia 4, Crimson Desert, MGS3 Delta, Dying Light Beast, Dawnwalker...).

While I am cheap and do GamePass and subbed Ubi + to play AC:Shadows, I do plan to buy some games.
  1. GTA 6
  2. Donkey Kong
  3. Mario Kart Switch Bundle
I wish there was something I could get for my kids on PS5. Young kids, so Astro Bot type.

I already bought that xenoblade chronicles and like 4 or 5 games that were super cheap. I don't know if I'll buy anything else day one. I really don't want to buy anymore games until I actually play some of the games I've bought in the last 12 months.

Sony's crazy releasing lots of Playstation games on Steam this year, so I'll probably buy some of them.

I won't get them all in 2025, but there's at least 5 2025 games I'll get at some point (Ghost of Yotei, Prime 4, Silksong, MK World and DK Bananza).

Expedition 33, Lies of P dlc and the annual COD are the only sure buys for me this year. Unless something else is announced and released this year that I want to play like RE9, which I highly doubt.

Looking at PC alone I'm interested in KCD2 (bought on release), MindsEye (June), MGS3 (August), Mafia 4 (August) and now I also have Oblivion (next week hopefully) as probable purchase unless it's a completely broken mess.
If I look at consoles as well then I also have Death Stranding 2 (June), Ghost of Yotei (July) and GTA VI (Fall).

This year I would be happy with GTA alone, I'm super hyped for that game but I'm happy what we have all these releases, it'll help making the wait less painful.

Honestly I can't even remember the last year I had so many games I was interested in all throughout the year, usually I'm interested in a couple but they all release in that holiday period, this time around I can spend the money more evenly spread out instead of spending hundreds within just a few weeks' timespan.

The only game I'm buying 100% is this month, Clair Obscure Expedition 33. They deserve my money by making a great RPG at reduced price.

I'll buy Crimson Desert too, but not sure if day 1.

I will buy

Clair Obscur Expedition 33
MGS3 Delta
Silksong
GTA6
Ghost of Yotei

I already bought

Suikoden 1-2 remaster

I have the opposite problem.
I just don't have the time to play all the things that are being released and I want to play without increasing my backlog.
In 2025 I've already bought:

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Monster Hunter Wilds
Tomb Raider 2nd Collection
Assassin's Creed Shadows
Indiana Jones

Other 2025 must buy:
Onimusha 2 Remaster
Oblivion Remaster
Death Stranding 2
Mafia The Old Country
GTA6
Ghost of Yotei
Metal Gear Solid Delta

Wait and see:
Mindseye
Ninja Gaiden 4
Lost Soul Aside

+ all the games that are still unannounced...marketing cycles have drastically shortened we still don't know the holiday 2025 lineup.
Yea I accidentally picked no but there is way to much to play.

Battlefield
Broken Arrow
Death Stranding
Era One
Ghost of Yotei
GTA
Dying Light
Menace
Beyond Astra
Project Haven
Fragile Existence

I already bought Tomb Raider 4-6 Remasters and would have bought Avowed if not for Game Pass

Game Pass games I would probably buy:
Outer Worlds
Gears Collection
Oblivion

Several I plan to get, whether I actually get around to playing them is a different story. Only one I can say I'm playing for sure is Onimusha 2. Maybe Lost Soul Aside as well if it ends up being good.

Indiana Jones (PS5)
Clair Obscur
ReAnimal
Little Nightmares 3
Split Fiction
Mandragora
Silksong (if true lol)

All games released this year or going to be released this year that I will definitely be purchasing.

Most of the games I'm looking forward to this year are ports of MSFT games, which hey, new to me so that's fine.

Death Stranding / Ghost of Yotei will be good. I'm sure Marathon will be fun for a bit as well...plus remember GTAVI probably and Switch 2 games. Nintendo will have a major holiday title ready to go.

Lots to play but I agree that the first half of this year has been pretty barren. When podcasters are having to talk about a game like Atomfall you know it's been slow.

I've already bought several, plan on buying several more!

Looking forward to a few game pass games like Doom, wuchang, oblivion, etc. but im only looking to buy ER Nightreign and GTA(if it's still 2025) on day 1.

Sure. Bought Xeno X, going to buy Metroid Prime 4, Sonic Racing Crossworlds is a high probability. Maybe Kaname Date game as well.
