Philips/Sony new gen. Sony were shit but upped their game.

Sharp rocked last gen, but screwed up this gen, going small panel size.

For that under 30" size, your best bet is going with those dirt-cheap CMO-based panels (the $1000 panels). They're not the best quality, but they're a lot cheaper than the competition.

I agree that Sharp seems to be putting all their technology in their 45" 1920x1080 panels.
