I can't believe we went from...

Just listen to the guy talk:
http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0AA790TLFZYCE2IVWUG1GUTEFR

:(

We would be so much better off right now if he (or someone like him) was still in office.

well he wasn't perfect but I can tell u we all love him over here in Europe. Specially here in Northern Ireland. Anyone that does a book signing will pretty slim security in the centre of Belfast is all good to me.

The whole affair thing just made him even better, good presidents = adulterers

I think I know how all those middle-aged Bush supporters feel. They went to college when Reagan was president! No wonder they love 'em!

Myself, I went to college when Clinton was president, and as far as I'm concerned he was the rootinest, tootinest president in my lifetime. He didn't have a bad bone in his body, and a perverse part of me wanted something like 911 to happen during his presidency just to see how he would've stood up as a "strong" leader. That was Carter's undoing, after all.

Blame FDR.

I'm not 100% sure Clinton would have won if he ran a 3rd time, anyway; between all the scandals he was basically bending the country over to China and holding a sign over the hole that read "COME ON IN".

Looking into the future, I'm not sure if there's any Democrat in the party currently that can match ol' boy's charisma.

Clinton was cool.

But don't forget he lied to your country and you can't permit that ever happening again.

*cough*

Wasn't he the president who was nearly impeached for having an affair? Or am I thinking of someone else...?

he wasnt impeached for having an affair. he was impeached for lying to a grand jury under oath. perjury

and boy could he play the camera... here is a clip from after the funeral of Vincent Foster. You will see clinton smiling and joking with a pal but the instant he spots the cameras he changes... you get to see the trademark clinton protruding bottom lip of woe and then he even sheds some tears.

You do realize that Nixon was never impeached, right?

Only 1 other president has ever been impeached besides Clinton ... guess who it is without using google!

Edit: damn I'm slow.

Wasn't Taft impeached for being a FUCKING LARDASS?

Good lord man ... eat some carrots! Try some celery! Did they have McDonalds back then? :)

Yup. That just means that the charge was brought against him, not that he was kicked out. Nixon was also impeached, but resigned before he could be kicked out.

:lol Gotta love the man. Seeing this shit makes me appreciate him even more. He was definitely made for the public life.

Fuck Bush.

No, Nixon resigned before the Senate and House had a chance to actually vote to impeach him. His successor (Ford) then pardoned him before he could actually be charged with any crime.

When the Sudanese government got tired of protecting bin Laden, they offered to give him to Clinton, but Clinton refused. Maybe 9/11 wouldn't have happened if Clinton's cronie, Sandy Berger, decided to block 4 plans to capture Bin Laden, but other than that he did a great job for country. :)

ADMINISTRATION RECORDS SET
- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad

Bring back the good ole days!! The one that really sticks out to me, is how corrupt his cabinet was.

There was a reason why Al Gore wouldn't utter his name during the 2000 election.

It's hilarious how you guys think Clinton's so cool for being a snake but offended that Bush is the same way.

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance

- First president accused of rape.

These are totally irrelevant.

Sure Clinton had his flaws, but compared to a president that goes to war on false pretenses and continually lies to the public about it, that's relevant. That affects America.

I'd like Clinton back or any moderate democrat or republican (real republican...you know low spending, small government, sep of church and state -- true conservative values).

most of those things make me like him even MORE!

Recent things that I can think of:

War on Iraq
Attempt to use Terri Shiavo for political gain
Changing environment reports to fit their agenda
Attempt to make an amendment to ban gay marriages

What is Andrew Johnson?

He was also impeached for a bullshit reason. They impeached him because he fired someone from the executive branch without the consent of the Senate, which was a questionable law in the first place. Granted, the guy was a racist dickhead and probably could have been nailed on any of a number of corruption charges and not enforcing laws passed by congress, they just used a pissy law to try to throw him out.

Okay!

What I put in bold is due to a strong economy. What exact programs did Clinton push through that would have caused all of that? Presidents have little or no effect on the economic climate during thier terms. Often times, what they do in office isn't felt for years to come.

So, political corruption is ok as long as we don't goto war. Makes sense.

Not really. It's just the political corruption you mentioned resulted in what exactly? I don't know, but I'm guessing its' not as bad as spending $200 Billion, losing american lives, and turning the world against us, creating more terrorist recruitment in the middle east, etc.

Since I don't know what level of corruption you speak of, I'm assuming that it's not worse than the horrible effects of the Bush Administration. A lesser corruption is more desirable than major corruption.

I'm not taking extremes. Taking extremes in the political field is very dangerous.
