Why can't Nero handle Japanese filenames?

I have the East Asian Language Pack installed in WinXP, and I have files and paths which are in Japanese, and that works fine... but why can't Nero burn such files? Toast for OSX can do it just fine. (and why can Toast handle much longer disc titles than Nero as well?)

Is there some kind of add-on download for Nero to handle this thing, or is Toast just superior in this regard?

I don't know if this is a guy or a girl, but I <3 this avatar. It makes me smile for some reason.

As to the Nero thing, I've found it impossible to burn Japanese CDs using Nero as well, nowadays I just use iTunes for that. :T
