Why does He Man's power turn him into a stripper?

Cartoons back in the day carried some very perverted subtext.

We're just now figuring this out as adults.

He's fully clothed and already has muscles. Why does his sword strip him of his clothes? Does nudity give him power? I am so confused.

Didn't work with She-Ra unfortunately.
True answer IIRC is that He-Man came from a failed Conan the Barbarian toy line project, so whatever they did they had to come up with a muscular shirtless hero wearing furry underwear.

You are seeing it the wrong way.

Not having his power activated puts a muscular manly barbarian into a gender confused dude in purple and pink clothes.

The original name was actually going to be "The-Man", and so a virtually naked, massively ripped figure was the best way to make sure there was no confusion about it.

Same reason why ken shiro do the same, clothes limit movements during combat (nah it just looks cool to show the muscles)

They didn't have stretch fabric tech in that universe. Imagine if The Hulk didn't have magic pants.
