Why is CPU usage, while watching 4K Youtube videos, so high suddently?

A few weeks ago it was fine. Below 50% usage on my i5 4670. I got a new 4K TV and i even watched a lot of 4K demos on Youtube with no issues.

Since a couple of days the usage has climbed up to around 65-70% with even higher spikes. Even for the same videos i watched before. I now can't even watch a single 4K video without stutters every now and then.

My PC is clean, there are no new background apps eating CPU, i still have the same amount of processes (i check regularly) and i'm getting 0% CPU usage when idle.

It seems to be Google rolling out there pro-Chrome things, if you're browser is detected to be anything else there's now a sudden bloat and delay, I'm sure other browsers will update to get around this at some point.

Shit, i'm using firefox. Is this true? It crossed my mind. I need to test this...

~5% for me with this video (and no 8k option...)

3600. How are your benchmark scores?
Still 50%+ using Firefox.

Everything else runs fine, there are no issues with CPU throttling or anything. Temps are fine also.
