Naughty Dog used to release games every 2-3 years with industry leading graphics. Ever since PS5 launched, they have done zilch. Just profit farming TLOU and they released a shit season 2 tv series.
The issue here is you are referring to a time frame where lots of AAA teams released games every 3 years.
Look at Rockstar. PS3 gen we got GTAIV, RDR1 and GTAV.
PS4 gen, we got RDR2...
What you are talking about is not a "Naughty Dog" issue..
Even teams that used to be yearly, are no longer doing that, look at Ubisoft's top IP, AC is no longer a yearly release. So this thing isn't really solely based on 1 team, that is no longer the norm to put out games ever 2 to 3 years by MOST TEAMS in terms of AAA releases.
Profiting from The Last Of Us is based on Sony the publisher, ND does not own the IP...the choice to remaster, is a Sony one, the choice to make a show is a Sony one and isn't going to stop any game from releasing.
So, they are working on Intergalactic, which means clearly something is being made by them as it doesn't take a whole team to remaster The Last Of Us 2 or even remake The Last Of Us 1.
Thats like thinking GTA Trilogy is delaying GTA 6...
this gen will have ND only making remakes/remasters.... UC Collection, LOU Part 1, LOU2 Remastered.
? Uncharted Collection was made by Blue Point games...
Sony's big first party game for the holiday season is a remaster - but not just any remaster. Uncharted: the Nathan Dra…

The Last Of Us part 1 remake only took 3 years and most of the team was working on Intergalactic , as lots of outside studios worked on the Remake...
The Last Of Us 2 remastered isn't stopping any new game as this is something that takes mere months sir..
There's no guarantee Intergalactic will even release this gen since there's no date. If it goes into PS6 territory
I don't see it not releasing as Sony is no longer showing games deep years in advance
Its listed as a PS5 game on their site

Remaster on PS6? Likely, but with how Sony has shown games recently, I see literally zero evidence it will be some PS6 game (like launch day first time for everyone on PS6 ala Breath Of The Wild)
That is very likely a 2026, 2027 PS5 game and then later remastered on PS6 or something.
Sony is likely waiting until Ghost 2 has released to start marketing their 2026 line up, but that is what we saw when they started marketing Ghost 2 right after Death Stranding 2 released..
