Why no Timesplitters Future Perfect hype? You pigs, this game is a champ!

Since no one else did i, that means i have to. Timesplitters 3 is cleary going to be a top-notch fps. While some may dislike its "quirky" (and often times incoherent) storyline, the gameplay is (to me at least) the best on the market (going by TS 2...). Multiplayer is nice and smooth, maps are creative and the weapons are great. Best of all (regarding splitscreen mp), there are massive amounts of stats kept and many playable characters.

go ts: fp go!

Champ of the garbage men!

PS- Timesplitters series has always sucked!
I wholeheartedly agree ^^. It actually blows my mind anyone could even remotely like that shit.

Because I bought the hype (and the game) last time, and it was pretty fucking bad. Sold it after a week.

I actually bought Timesplitters 2 based on all the decent reviews.

What a waste of money that was.

The controls are unresponsive. Yeah you can tweak them but I could never find a comfort zone in moving my character with the analog sticks. Also, the game moves too fucking fast. Seriously. It is the only game I've played where I had to stop playing because the game speed was making me naseous. You ever want to trip yourself out spin your character while going up and down winding staircases in Timesplitters 2.

Yes, the character designs are absolutely awful.

Timesplitters 2 was great, screw the haters. Any game with monkeys in it has to be good. Can't wait for the third one.

*yawn*

This is a hype thread, you can leave haters.

I am very much looking forward to this game, as it has given me and my friends countless hours (well over 2 days, not including restarts according to the stats) of fun in capture the bag, deathmatch, team deathmatch, virus, etc. The map maker is fun, and we love to make team senarios. I won't be playing this online (have Half-Life 2 for that), because this game rocks so much split screen. The new map maker looks great, as do the other new features. A definite pre order for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed TimeSplitters 2, which was one of the few truly fun first-person shooters in recent years. I also have high expectation for this game, but I don't think I'll be getting it right away, since I need to save money for the PSP launch.

BOO! You just suck at TimeSplitters!

The game's meant to be fast and smooth, it's a staple of the series. And I find that it controls near-perfectly for an FPS on controller, 100X better than Halo's controls. TS2 rocks, I played through it on Co-op, one of the best gaming experiences of my life. Short, but very very sweet.

Yea! If your goal was anti-precision. It defined floaty control.

The options are cool though, I'm waiting to see a review or two.

Ahhh, sweet sweet gaf hate, nothing else quite like it....
War games are overdone.
lol. fucking fantasy games, with their knights and armor and elves, they're all fucking the same! bah!

My friend and I played the first mission on hard for five hours. It was pretty tough, but so worth it. That first level is so awesome. :lol

Yeah, that's a valid argument depending on who you are. Personally I just prefer TS's controls, they always felt right to me, and yes, I am quite precise with them.

Halo's are really annoying for me, even when set on higher sensitivities. I feel like I'm aiming in RE4 or something even though it's an FPS.

I can't stand playing TimeSplitters. The game moves way too fast for my tastes, and some of the characters are retardedly designed. Yay, a monkey. But it's half the size of everyone else and twice as fast, which makes it impossible to hit. The weapons are also pretty unbalanced in my experience, which is just horrifically frustrating and boring (depending on which side of the imbalance you're on).

If only the whole game was as good as the first level in timesplitters 2. The rest of the game (single and multi), content wise was poor. Rubbish multi levels, linear, boring single missions. And the mapmaker was not good enough to be of much use =/

Good gameplay though, felt just like goldeneye/perfect dark. Hope ts3 can resolve the content issue.

TimeSplitters 2 had great variety. The only issue I have is the story didn't tie the various time periods together. Another thing I like is the staggering amount of player skins. I'm sorry, but the two models in Halo 2 just don't cut it.

God this game looks like shit.

POS Free Radical, they've tried 3 times and failed at every attemot. They just cant make a decent FPS game

I love the speed of Timesplitters. It makes multiplayer matches in particular a blast to play.

Co-op TS2 was also lots of fun.

I'm a huge TS2 fan, but TS3 hasn't been getting great reviews (TS2 got great reviews... check out GameRankings). I plan on renting it before I decide to buy it.

As for the controls, Halo does control better, but everyone has to realize that Halo moves so damn slow and has auto aim. The reason TS2 doesn't control as good is because of the speed, but once you get used to it, you'll be moving along no problem (although as with all console FPS, a mouse/keyboard would work way better)

there's something about Halo 1/2, TimeSplitters 2, Red Faction II and Unreal Championship have that other FPS games seemed to be missing... something that keeps my friends and i coming back to plat them over and over... it's that 'it' factor that just makes games FUN...

i really hope TS3 has the 'it' factor...

the controls are the worst part of the game. to compare them to Halo's controls is damn near blashpemy.

True, the rest of the levels were not as good, but it is the arcade challenges that I love about TS2. I spent way too much time trying to get all gold/platinums in the challenges, and there was so many too with great variety.

I really liked TS2. Didn't know that there was this level of hate for it. I don't know if I'll wind up buying this game. But it's a great rental for sure.

Ah, I loved timesplitters 2. Who the hell cares about the single player? I put something like 45 hours into the multiplayer, and the multiplayer challenges alone were worth the price of admission. They were varied, damn hard, and platinums were evil. EVIL I tell you! (in a good way).

Seriously, I never ever played the single player... just multi and the challenges, and it was still worth the price.

So it would seem Timsplitters is the Marmite of FPS games. For the record i rather like it. And i love the chunky over the top characters.

Okay, let me make some things clear here.

1) Halo 1 is the most overrated FPS game ever. It was just a decent FPS, nothing more. It was repetitive, reused many environements and had awful level design.

2) Timesplitters 2 has the best offline multiplayer mode on any console. Show me one FPS on console that has even HALF the options and modes that Timesplitters 2 has.

3) Timesplitters 2's single player and co-op modes are pure garbage.

4) Goldeneye was amazing for its time.

5) Timeplitters 3 will be a rehash but will still be enjoyable.

6) Halo 1 and 2 are also enjoyable.

7) You are allowed to form your own opinion. Opinions shouldn't be made by hype and general consensus.

8) All of the above are facts and not opinions. Except for maybe 1 and 3.

I loved TS2 for the Arcade challenges and multiplayer. Absolutely splendid, they were. Even if you hated the single player, there's still so much happiness in that little disc. I expect the same from Future Perfect.

I was looking forward to buying timesplitters, but then I realized rainbow six 4 was coming out soon, so I'm gonna get that. If timesplitters gets good reviews though, it'll be on the x-mas list.
