I own A Ghost is Born and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I heard somewhere that Summerteeth might be worth getting. Should I get it? Anything else worth getting? I'm not into pure country music, and I heard they started out as a country band. True? False?

The only album you won't get into is likely to be A.M. as it's far more 'country' than anything else they've done.

Summerteeth is excellent (looking back, you can definitely hear where YHF came from), but to me their absolute best was Being There. Please buy it. Please. Seriously.

I love Summerteeth. Maybe my favorite Wilco album. Still need to get my hands on Being There, though. Too fackin' pricey.

Summerteeth and Being There are both awesome, get them for sure. I would try to check out A.M. after that, it's pretty easy to like if your into all the other cds imo (think Wilco's "Pablo Honey"). Then if you like that you can head back into Uncle Tupelo stuff, all of it is worth owning. I'm not really into flat out Country, but bands like early Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, The Jayhawks, ect. do the trick for me.
