Wildwood (2026)

Bro I 10000% respect stop-motion artists who spend 15 hours a day moving a fucking clay figure 0.00001 millimeters and take a photo and then move the figure another 0.00001 millimeters and take another photo until they have 500000 photos of the clay figure doing the dab but I just cannot vibe with the retard in this video being inside an owl cage making a sketch of the fucking owl.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN, they took stop motion and made it look like medium quality CG! They may have gotten TOO GOOD, as the somewhat jerky nature of stop-motion is kind of the charm, versus they way this appears to be filmed. But I am 10000% down for stop-motion so will keep an eye out for this.

Curious if the end cost of this technology comes out on top of CG. Those puppets look EXPENSIVE but once you got it, everything else is probably fairly economical compared to CG, other than time. I'm guessing the ability to map out motions and camera movements, as well as digital imaging to review, make stop motion much more streamlined and predictable than it was in the old says. I feel like stop motion artists have a better grasp of weight and momentum than a lot of CG artists as well.

Before i say anything, it looks fantastic, true artistry.

but i did have a laugh at the man standing looking at an owl and drawing for reference... like dude... just take a photo, 3 hours saved.

What's next? You want them to throw out stop-motion and just CG everything?
