Will Xbox 2 get screwed by EA?

I'm just wondering about Xbox 2 launching early. It seems to be lined up with EA's yearly updates to key franchises already, which is a good thing. But considering the userbase (small) and the cost of developing specifically for the strengths of the hardware high), is it likely that Xbox 2 EA launch titles will be either PC ports or souped up xbox ports? i.e. using higher detail models and textures from the PC games, but not coding especially for it?

Maybe I'm just being cynical, and it depends how much money MS is putting down (wow, even more cynical!) - but I can see EA ticking the Xbox 2 box so to speak, but waiting for PS3 before really spending hard on development

That'll most likely happen on some games, but it's already being done already. At most, the Xenon will see better textures, better image quality, more effects ("Look Mommy! Allen Iverson's sweaty forehead has bloom lighting!"), boosted environmental poly count and smoother framerate.

i think it's more likely that EA will create their PS3 prototypes on the Xbox 2 hardware they've had for ages... develop it at 1 fps on Xbox 2, port to PS3 where it'll run at 60fps!

AWESOME! :)

HAHA you didn't just ask that... You don't screw over the biggest money maker in (ANY) business and someone who can possibly buy you.

Yes. EA announced earlier today that they are going to support the Xbox for, like, a couple months, and then totally go Revolution-exclusive. They just wanted to be up front about it, and shit.

I believe this has been discussed and speculated more seriously here before (maybe I'm thinking of another message board, but I'm pretty sure it was here), so I'm not sure why the possibility is being ridiculed now...

I doubt it. If you are having in mind the DC to make this statement I think the DC wasn't supported because other reasons.
