I recently just built a new computer with a 3700+ AMD 64 processor, and since newegg had a deal on it with Windows x64, I went ahead and bought that too. I was just going to install that and get to work, but...
My mother talked with her IT person at work, casually bringing up that it was "some 64 processor thing". The IT person immediately got leery about it, saying that she wasn't very pleased with x64, that it would just create headaches. I'm thinking that's just general Windows stuff, but it got me worried so I just installed xp pro.
So, should I not really listen to her and install x64 or should I wait a few months before installing it, hoping that newer service packs will offer more support for 32-bit installers?
As a side note, these are a few of the programs that I'd need to install, so if you guys could tell me what is and what is not compatable, that would be awesome.
Firefox
iTunes
Azureus
BF2
HL2 & CS
World of Warcraft
Starcraft
Soulseek
Trillian
MPC
VLC Player
Divx
