There's a new anime out called Windy Tales, and being the regular fansub downloader I am, I started grabbing it out of a whim due to;
a) A new anime being directed by the same person who did the You're Under Arrest! series and movie.
b) Kenji Kawai (of Ghost in the Shell/Patlabor fame) composed the music.
The animation and characters remind me so much of Wind Waker it's not funny.. but they have their own class and style to it. Yet it still has that similar look with giant heads and tiny bodies and the world around them has a very cel-shade in 2D look.
The whole story is about a girl in the Photography Club at her high school who is taking photo's of clouds, sees a cat nearby and starts to talk to it for awhile. The cat later jumps off the building and starts flying in mid-air, much to her disbelievement, she starts taking photo's as quickly as possible without realizing that she is falling from the building till it's too late.
Mysteriously, she survives the fall without a scratch, scar or broken bones. Once she prints out the photo's from her digi-cam, she finds a picture of her Maths teacher with his eyes closed commanding the wind around him and has a feeling he protected her. So they set off to find out where he is and what power he has.
Episode 1 is already out with Episode 2 coming out either later today or tomorrow.. if you don't know which group is doing it, just head over to baka-updates.com
