Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
And the corporate overlords didn't do anything about it? Nuts.
The characters are based on books that have entered public domain. However, the Disney representations are still copyrighted by Disney.

Okay to put in your movie:

Winnie the Pooh entered public domain January 1st, 2022.

Welp, guess we can “look forward” to someone like Illumination Entertainment making a Winnie the Pooh movie with fart jokes and characters finding such risqué words like “bottom” to be incredibly hilarious.

Disney has been throwing so much money at trying to get another extension, which expires on January 1st, 2024. The problem is, Disney got so political as of late and many people who have the power to extend this do not agree with the Walt Disney Company’s ideologies. I can’t wait to see what stuff we will start getting with these copyrights opening up.

TIL that Pooh wasn't created by Disney.

Nuts.
First book was published in 1926. 95 years have now officially past so all the characters featured in it are free to use for anyone.

Note thought that this can be a minefield. The Norse god Thor is for example most definitely in the Public domain. But make him Blond and speak in old timely English and you might get into trouble for ripping off "Marvel Thor". Which is legally a different thing.

Similarly. Specifically using the Disney depiction of Winnie-the-Pooh might also get you into trouble.
