When can you play our game? I prefer 11pm CST and can make it most any evening. Let me know. I'm flexible, but this is what I prefer.
Actually, it looks like we play twice in the first 4 matches. It also looks like we're the only people who have to play the same opponent twice in the first 4. I'm sure it will work itself out.

Im pretty stoked. Its a little discouraging to see FMT off to such a commanding lead already, but we'll get 'im!

Ill be awake and willing to go at 11am PST tomorrow (wednesday) if any of you can do that. Otherwise, thursday morning/afternoon. It would be nice to get a couple games in before I leave on friday. Especially since I'll be crazy busy until tuesday and even after since my sis is returning home after a year away (np, but ill want to spend time with her).
PS. What kind of defense do the Czechs have? I know theyve got strong goaltending (Cech) and offense (Nedved, Rosicky, Baros, etc), but what about their D?

Because I have school, study during the day, and work some nights, I generally spend my free evenings with the gf (eg, tonight). That means that I generally have just mornings, afternoons, and late evenings (am PST) open. Im a rare case, but at the same time I havent had so much trouble getting games in before. Usually sundays work out well, but of course Im going to be away this weekend.
Huka, what time do you get off work (EST or PST)?
Larry Bird suggested this idea to me, and it might have some merit. If we are going to have single elimination playoff games, unlike the league's series', what about increasing the length of playoff games slightly? Just by 5 minutes. What do you guys think about that? Also....if you have ANY suggestions about game settings changes, or anything, please feel free to tell me.

I wouldn't mind the extra 5 minutes. How about silver or golden goal? Not sure what they use in the actual Cup, but silver always struck me as the fairer of the two in giving you a chance to get back in it.
Awful game Beatbox. Neither of us looked like we knew what we were doing, and the only goal was an own goal. Plus it was pretty laggy, and I hardly ever have lag. This is why it's good to have 8 first round games, to get to know your team.
You said you wish you had a striker....Isn't Baros on the team? In real life he's on the czech team and he's one of the most dangerous strikers.

Yeah stinks to get a red card and an own goal to start the cup. I did have 6 blue starters and I subbed a lot of them. Even sat Baros for the first half. I did end up with a few good shots - but just felt the pain of having a bunch of half decent shooters blasting shots wide. Overall it wasn't that bad for my first online game with this team (played two games against CPU).
I'm pondering something. The playoffs will have 8 teams, but I have two options.
Option 1: 1st and 2nd place teams in every division make the playoffs. One team will miss the playoffs in every division
Option 2: 1st place in each division makes the playoffs, but the remaining 4 spots go to the best 4 overall teams. So one division could have just one team in the playoffs, and one could possibly have all 3 make it.
What do you guys think? It's a tough call.

As far as my team goes - I'm not that impressed yet. I do need to consider a major overhaul to my play style with this team. Nedved is average, Rosicky is good, Baros is good, Koller is good, . One or two other decent players. A young average group at D and a good ass young keeper.

GG there Soc, tale of two halfs it seemed. Nice goal to take it in the end, I thought I had you contained for a sec but you found the open guy. I cant believe Henry missed that point blank shot.
I thought the tie was done, kicking myself for getting robbed on a couple breakaway chances in the first half. Then when you finally penetrated and nearly scored.... ooh, I wasnt happy. :lol But yea, the late goal was a relief. Good first touch by Montella and a lucky shot on the short angle.
