Wipeout Pure soundtrack! GET IT NOW!

I enjoy the OST and all but would have appreciated some big name artists like Underworld, Future Sound of London, Prodigy, Orbital, Daft Punk etc. as in Wipeout XL. WXL's soundtrack remains the best usage of licensed music in history IMO.

Dont get me wrong though, very cool of you regardless!

Edited for grammar.

It's got LFO, Photek and Paul Hartnoll (of Orbital), which isn't too shabby. But I agree, Wipeout 2097 is probably my favourite game soundtrack ever.

The stock soundtrack's not bad as a game soundtrack, but lacks the quality and a little of the intensity of WOXL's. i felt Sasha did as good a job with the WO3 soundtrack, and he's only one guy compared to the numerous artists of WOP, though that might be due to trance being my final destination in the more electronic variants of electronic music. Hopefully the downloadable tracks will pick up the slack.

Sasha didn't do the whole soundtrack for Wipeout 3. It had a bunch of licensed tracks from various artists.

Thanks aoi tsuki! GAF will be remembered as the place that provided the Wipeout Pure and Ridge Racers soundtrack first ^_^

Oh man, this is awesome. Thanks a ton aoi tsuki! :)

Did anyone else notice Track 5 - Cross the Line cutting out at 1:16 and then kinda just bleeping occasionally till the end? Or maybe it's just messed up on mine? It's such a great track too, judging from the first minute.

Thanks for encoding all that.

Impressive how many songs are on crammed onto the UMD.

But let me just be the first to say that the WOP soundtrack is fucking shite. :) Unless you have a hard-on for late '90s post-acid big beat electronica and really boring techstep d'n'b. God, even the Aphex song on there is awful.

But seriously, thanks for putting this up.

Thanks I appreciate it!

Soundtrack doesn't sound all that bad really (just ignore Che ;) ), has some catchy songs. At the very least it provides a nice sonic background for when I work.

This assesment is completely spoton:

Psssst... How's the work on Lumines?

Track 5 seems incorrectly recorded.
It only plays in mono from the left and abruptly ends on 01:16.

EDIT:
Found another problem, this time it's with Track 10.
At 02:38 the song switches to mono and only plays from the left.

I like the soundtrack, some of the D&B and of course the trance on it is good and I like that Plump DJs song... and of course you know who...

Though Xpander is a personal fave of mine.

Silly me - you're right. i especially like the Propellerheads track (one of the few tracks by them i like ironically) and The Chemical Bros. "Under The Influence".

i'd really like to see future games employing the use of the MS Duo for personalized music. The music's the weakest part of WOP currently, but again, it's only so because the previous soundtracks rocked.

Nah, the interface is the weakest part. What's up with having your medals displayed in a totally separate part of the menu than your single race choice!?

Thanks!

Any place for Wipeout 64, XL and 3 too? :lol :D
i don't have WO64 unfortunately. As far as XL and WO, i think they're packed somewhere. If you've got the original games, you can rip the music yourself since it's all redbook audio. i'm not sure if i'd feel right posting them since the vast majority are available elsewhere. i'm just doing this as a service for those who aren't willing to drop nearly $300 to play the game. :)

Also, i'm working on the messed up tracks as we speak.

Has anyone experienced distorted audio from WOP? i was playing with earphones on in my car and there was noticeable distortion. It sounded like my earphones were blown. i noticed it again as i reviewed a track i just recorded. Removing the disc from the home screen and reinserting it seemed to help. So far, it's only happened with WOP.

Photek and LFO are far from shite. Take that back!

Oh, and I've ripped the WipeOut 64 soundtrack years ago. If anyone wants it, I can upload it. I even ripped Miles Ahead, one of the best WipeOut songs.

Oh yeah. need them Goodless.

Propeller Head
GoodNight Lover
Sonic
Absurb
etc

bring it!

Well, I only ripped the tunes from Psygnosis' in-house music studio, PC Music. The other tracks by Fluke and Propellerheads... you can just download them anywhere, really. Uploading them now.

I like Wipeout 3's soundtrack better then XL myself...at least overall I find it more consistent. I think XL has a higher number of great tracks though.

If anyone wants to grab the original Wipeout soundtrack along with some of the tracks from XL, hit Cold Storage's website.

Fixed tracks 5 and 10. i'm about to go back out again, so i've uploaded them for individual download. They'll later be added to the zip. i need to do a little more research on some of the tracks to make sure spelling and other info is correct. i got a PM that Paul Hartnoll did the intro as well. If anyone can confirm/deny with links, i'd appreciate it.

As far as Lumines music, if you browse around my site, you'll find a few tracks. It's hard to record Lumines songs from the game since they're basically loops that progress as you do in the game. Also, i suck at Lumines, despite shining moments and my overall love for the game.

Sheesh. I did all this a week ago and no one seemed interested in it in the Wipeout Pure thread :)

I don't know if mine is better quality or anything but I did make a point to renormalize everything and it's encoded using --alt-preset standard if anyone cares...

I must say that I really liked the intro music. The others are good too but to be honest nothing I normally listen to. I wish I could upload my own mp3s and listen to those while playing. But still the soundtrack is far from bad, it's just not super great IMO :D

Really? i scanned that thread for links and didn't see any. Didn't mean to steal the spotlight. i definitely wouldn't have bothered if someone else already did it.
