Today I found out my (crappy ass) WLinx router wasn't compatible with my new 26Mbit connection, so now I'm just running w/o the router (no more Xbox movie watching -.-).

Eh.. anyways I started looking into wireless routers, cuz I want one and PSP'll be compatible with it. But is it worth it? Firstly a PCI 801.11 card costs about $60 here. To add some salt to the bill I've heard that you don't even reach up to regular "wired" speeds. For intstance a 54Mbps card only gave 1mb/s? What's up with that? :/

(Figured out what PSP functions it will have over just hooking it up to a USB port (internet))

Oh, and recommend me a good router and/or PCI card combo. (Heard Netgear was the way to go)

Whoever told you that 54 Mb/s does only 1 mb/s is on crack. In my NYC apartment, I can get 54 Mb/s in most area, and if not, it's throttles down to only 36 Mb/s. I am using a netgear router and PCI card combo.

Damn, getting friends off crack sucks. So I take it 54Mbps = ~6mb/s? In that case I might go for a 54Mbps router.
