Witchfire - World Premiere Trailer

Looks good. Did they change it from being a looter shooter? Because I didn't see any loot drop when enemies were killed. Hoping it eventually releases on current generation consoles.

Seems a bit bad. Aim down sights in a game like this? Slowing things down? Nah

Looks great, seems like my type of shooter.

Shame it's only entering Early Access after so long but I'll check it out when it's fully out.

Is it a proper campaign or more like a rogue like?

Am I the only one that think that looks a lot like destiny?

Absolutely spot on. Exactly what I thought(I'm a daily Destiny 2 player). I asked my son "What game does this remind you of?" and he said "It kinda reminds me of Destiny." :messenger_beaming:

Though game has my attention but I'm worried that'll never come close to the huge monster of a game that Destiny provides.

This was my game of the show today, until I found out that it's been in dev hell for years now and the early access is EGS only.

Ah well, if it's a good product when it comes out, I'll buy it. It looks fun. The comparisons to Destiny in this thread is probably one of the things I unknowingly liked about it. The gunplay looks good but the feedback and recoil and stuff for the guns seem non-existent. There's apparently a lot of time for them to fix that type of thing though before it releases.

Looks great. They've been working on this for quite some time now and it's shaping up nicely indeed. Now I just hope I can run it on my ageing desktop.

I was trying to remember to remember who The Astronauts were. Then I searched and found out it was the guys who made The vanishing of Ethan Carter; a game I loved. Increased my interest but that was a walking simulator and this is almost the exact opposite so I think I will wait for impressions before getting excited.

Astronauts are former Painkiller and Bulletstorm devs.

Dead game tbh. Took them so long just to release in early access, game changed directions over-time. A fucking mess. See ya in another 5 years I guess.

Rogue lite according to the dev. I've been following this since the first reveal , finally this will see the light of release.

The lead on this game is obssesed with Destiny, so naturally. See bellow straight from him:

"Many times when I am asked a design question by a programmer, my reply is: "See how Destiny does it."

This reached the point when this appeared on our team chat…

The Astronauts are former People Can Fly devs. At least the founders.

I hope they didn't clone any of the atrocious platforming.

Otherwise i think this looks like a fun and solid shooter. Maybe a true sequel to Painkiller.
I rewatched the teaser that revealed the game and since it said from the creators of painkiller and bulletstorm, I assumed it was people can fly and that's what stayed to me , anyway still hyped, I loved both Painkiller and Bulletstorm.

Some are disappointed but I thought this looked fantastic, way more interesting than the usual war shooter, love the magic 👌

Eh, wake me up when it's actually finished. I just can't stomach early access any more, if I wanted to be part of the development process I'd be a developer.

It's only the second week of Q4 2022 but I am here early to tell you: we are not going to launch to Early Access in Q4 2022. We are now aiming for early 2023. That is three "early words" in one paragraph. No, wait, four.

Finally the wait is over soon . Been following this since the reveal . Latest video looking crisp there

I remember being hyped for this, but then something put me off. Rouge like elements are to be featured in it which made me lose interest.

Looking good but..........

Early Access on EGS, aka gamepass beta testing. I'll grab sons of the forest and play this on gamepass down the track.

If I sound salty it's because everything i've bought on egs has ended up on gamepass, so i'm done with that mistake.

Witchfire will be available in Early Access for Windows players from the Epic Games Store on September 20, 2023. Watch the latest action-packed trailer to see various enemies meet their demise in this upcoming first-person shooter, as revealed during Summer Game Fest 2023. Witchfire is set in a grimdark fantasy world in which a deadly war rages between powerful witches and the Church. In this alternate reality, witches are very real and very dangerous— but so is the witch hunter, also known as a preyer. Armed by Vatican sorcerers, players wield an ungodly array of guns and forbidden magic as they combat dark terrors on behalf of their shadowy benefactors.

Aw man, this just reminded me that the game is EGS exclusive for a year or whatever. I think it looks like janky fun but I won't be supporting exclusivity shit on PC. Ah well, gives them time to iron out any bugs and stuff before I play it.
