With potentially dozens of franchises locked up with Xbox, which do you want freed?

Which games that Microsoft/Xbox owns are you hoping will be released from them so they don't get buried if Xbox decides to flatline all of the sudden.

I personally hope Tony Hawk pulls through.

Also, thanks to the Xbox fans that supported them buying more and more studios instead of investing in what they had. Your desire to win an unwinnable war by buying everything is insane. Just couldn't see this happening, huh?

Exit: mod, help I hit backspace and then enter lol

Xbox owners wanting more great games to play as part of their Game Pass sub were never the problem. How can you actually blame someone for wanting more value out of what they're paying for?

The issue is and has always been Microsoft/Xbox's complete lack of vision, strategic planning, and leadership. Just a completely rudderless ship for nearly 20 years now.

I think Diablo is the only thing I really care about at this point.

I thought Fallout 4 was boring, and never played 76. Skyrim was great, but that was 15 years ago and Starfield was a big disappointment. Halo seems dead as far as new games go.

I'm interested in Gears E-Day, but if that's meh, I will write off the series entirely.

I know they have a ton of other IP and studios but I haven't been playing any of those games.

Because this was warned.

Everything they've touched has turned to shit. Halo, Gears, Diablo, Call of Duty, even Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

Fallout, Doom, Quake, Im sure theres others but Fallout mainly, it needs to be freed from Bethesda more than anything so it can go back to being a Post Nuclear RPG and not a 'Le WAcKy WWWAasTElaNd' Bethesda themepark shooter

I don't need any freed as long as they keep coming to PC, but I would be sad if Psychonauts, Banjo Kazooie, or, obviously, The Elder Scrolls were sent to the IP graveyard instead of being spun off or picked up by someone more passionate and better managed. Alas, realistically, that's probably just what will happen for 2 of the 3 aforementioned franchises.

Apparently it is difficult to make a shooter with creative guns or gadgets with a fun plot.

Wait, you're saying I/O Interactive just did it?
Wait, you're saying Insomniac does it once a generation?
Wait, you're saying AA and indie devs do it too?

…All these resources and money, I guess we just can't figure it out guys 🤷‍♂️

I can't think of a ms/activision/bethesda IP I've cared much about. The game associated with MS that I played the most was Titanfall 1.

First Light isn't fun or creative, sadly

I'd be very interested to play a Starfield or TES mmo made in the vein of vanilla World of Warcraft, made by someone else not Zenimax. ESO wasn't magical enough with the design and not having a global auction house killed my interest even before One Tamriel made everything about progression useless.

Halo, Spyro, Crash, Banjo, Warcraft, Diablo, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Doom, Gears.

It's sad how much gaming legacy is going to die with Xbox.

In a perfect (see what I did there) world I would agree with you, but we've seen when modern devs tried to make a new Perfect Dark:

The entire franchise is probably deader than disco at this point.

Fallout, Doom, Minecraft, Elder scrolls, grounded, and wolfenstein.

Elder Scrolls, but it needs a new engine that can handle everything the game asks of it.
elder scrolls need a new team to be good because if it will have the same quality as starfield its gonna flop , old bethesda formula doesnt work anymore , the bar is higher these days , people dont need a bigger world they need a denser one with meaningful locations , loot , quests with good writing , good progression system

Freed for what exactly?
If they'll be "freed" to never be worked on ever again then let them stay with MS.
If we're talking about MS selling some to another big publisher then I'd say it doesn't matter which one will run them into the ground. There are no big publishers left which I'd call "safe" and competent.
If it's a divesting with spinning off Bethesda and Activision back into independent publishers then they should get whatever was theirs in this process. Both weren't doing too hot on their franchises prior to being sold to MS though.
Tbh the only interesting possibility in all this is if MS would decide to sell off Blizzard while keeping Activision. The rest are just tomato tomato.

Ah, yes, if MS for some stupid dumb reason will decide to make any of what they've bought Xbox exclusive - as in not release it on PC - then everything should be "freed". Fuck exclusivity.

Who tried to buy Perfect Dark again? I wonder if that conversation can be struck up again now that there's new "leadership".

I think Flight Simulator, Forza, Age of Empires, Elder Scrolls, Fallout and everything from Activision Blizzard are safe even if MS kills Xbox entirely.

If Gears flops and MS decides to stop caring about it... Gears of War for sure.

If State of decay 3 is saved it would be nice too.

They're not going to be freed, better to sit on them for years and do nothing. Maybe have a cheap re-release after 10 or 20 years to get that easy buck from the biggest fans.

Any and all franchises they never originally created or funded that didn't need a buyout to stand on their own.

Call of Duty. Warcraft. Diablo. Overwatch. Minecraft. Elder Scrolls. Fallout. Doom.

Sadly, that'll never happen unless Microsoft divests itself of gaming in general.
