It's hard to say for sure; he's not entirely unqualified for the position given his previous work in East Asia, but he's a controversial figure and a potentially dangerous one. Despite his promise not to impose American doctrine upon the World Bank, he's not someone I think is trustworthy and his close ties to President Bush makes him a further disturbing choice (and yet one more slap in the face to Bush's continued promises of attempting to mend the Trans-Atlantic relationship with our European allies)....but the jury's still out on Wolfowitz as far as the World Bank goes. With any luck, he'll break from the rest of the extreme conservatives and actually take the position seriously.
