As a perpetual "y'all" user from the American South, I hate how this term has pretty much been yanked (ahem) away from us by people who are nothing like us.

I am really starting to hate the word SLOP

It's not even a word that means much anymore. It's more of a buzzword for "bad" or "worthless."

I'm starting to think it's used more to shut down actual discussion rather than to describe anything meaningful

It's a real word that's been around for a while, like "That made me cringe" or something. But it's a very modern thing to hear it as a one-word reaction to something ("Cringe!") or used as an adjective ("That show is cringe") rather than its proper form as a verb.

It's modern usage also tends to be used as one of those catch-all word-that-describes-something-not-good too.

I don't have a visceral hatred for it like I do gooner and incel and most of the time the word is being used to correctly describe something of low quality, but it is massively overused. Use garbage, trash, refuse, horseshit, crap, whatever. Just any synonym for bad will work better than just saying slop.

I've seen married men be called incels so yes, it essentially just means "I don't like you". I've also seen cunty feminists use it to describe fans of games like Genshin Impact, Marvel: Rivals, Stellar Blade, etc. Again, if you want to call a guy a virgin, just say virgin instead of adopting idiotic slang like incel.

To be fair, I will continue to overuse slop as long as whiny corpos continue to overuse their terrible AI that nobody asked for.
 
Cooked is, well, cooked, through overuse, of course, but also imprecision. To cook in the present tense is unequivocally good ("Let him cook!"), but once cooked the thing is dead, bad, inert.

it's used so much now that the people saying it are the ones literally spewing the slop. i'd rather listen to an AI talk!

Slop does have a more nuanced meaning coming from its original meaning - as in low quality food that pigs are supposed to voraciously eat - which works well for entertainment media.
But it has become a meme word to mainly just mean 'AI generated'.

Someone already mentioned it but I'll repeat gooner.
Both because it ruined actual fun goons as in henchmen, and also because it's in 99% of the cases people who actually seems to be porn addicts themselves projecting and/ or people trying to use shame tactics to erase suggestive content.
Like I am sorry but if you think that the existence of cleavage is pornography and you can't separate them at all the gooner here is you lmao.

Also in a lot of cases the same people in question also have their whole timeline just full of niche porn or erotic stuff, I've lost count how many times I've seen a furry who spam retweet furry porn every single day call other people gooner because they think a woman is hot.
Same with the muscle mommy thing so many people who just straight up fetishize women with muscles to an almost deranged degree but then they call other people gooner because they like more conventional looking women.

Something that relates to this too that I'd just add is '' addict '', whenever it's something people have some personal issue with they accuse you of being an addict for engaging in it at all.
An addiction is when something effectively controls your life, when you skip school or stay home from work because you just have to do this thing and it controls your life.
An addiction isn't when you just enjoy something even something that might not be super great for you.
Everyone understands this with alcohol and alcoholism but they act obtuse about it in a lot of other instances.

Edit: Honestly just in general these internet slang terms that become popularized because they always get abused to hell and back.
They pretty much always lose their meaning completely.

"my bad," never have I even conceived of using this phrase. It burns my ears when I hear it, and I am actually sometimes uninterested in responding to people who use it. My grammar senses get triggered... To my ears, it is just as silly as saying "my terrible," "my stupid."

"Bad" is an adjective, it will never be a noun. What the hell is wrong with "my mistake," "my error"?

Growing up in Oklahoma in the 80s & 90s "y'all" was an everday word used by truck driving, flag waving, shotgun wielding rednecks lolol.

Gooner has another meaning. Gooners are the names of Arsenal fans. It came about in the 1980s and it is derived from Gunners (nickname of Arsenal). A Gunner is an Arsenal footballer.

Incel is supposed to mean involutary celibate but many people misuse it.
