:o

Ok but like...

...what does that japanese text say! And also, I hope it's water color visuals. And also, "World of Mana" means like... another Legend of Mana type shit or like... a MMORPG?

Anyway, all speculation. Nobody can answer these questions! But still cool stuff :)

The pics are old, but the name and logo are new. Not too sure about the text...

Haha, this forum would explode in outrage if it was for DS.

Even though that's the only system that has a Mana game announced for it? :P

Where's the original source of those pictures? Anyone have the URL? (Not talking about that site's forums, talking about the real origin.)

I do believe Sword of Mana would be on my list as one of the WORST games published in the past 3 years.

Better luck with this one I hope.

Sword of Mana was pretty shitty, but I'm more worried this'll be like a Legend of Mana event. That was even worse.

They need to make this for the PS2 in 2d. Square has fucking sucked this generation on console systems. The only Square game I've bought was Final Fantasy 10, and I bought that at bargain price.

This iz definitely going to be on a Nintendo system (Brownie Brown iz Nintendo owned).

I hav fond memories of playing Secret of Mana, and yes, Secret of Evermore. Haven't played the recent ones, so i hope to get back into playing another one in the series.

I hate to be skeptical here, but the game that is being recruited for doesn't sound particularly like a DS game (character model designer, motion designer, background model designer, effect designer...). Also, why would Square Enix be recruiting rather than Brownie Brown? It's highly possible there are two Mana games in development at the moment.

Holy crap... I just looked at the TM application. Look how many categories they've filed it under... soft toys and online games included. "The World of Mana" may end up being an umbrella brand with lots of new work coming out. It could be pretty cool actually. I'd love a Mr.Cactus plush.

Speaking of a series that got down the crapper... *cries*

Ok guys, put yourselves together and REPLUG THAT SNES LIKE TRUE SOLDIERS.

please remember.

Brownie-Brown was actively recruiting for an unnamed GC rpg. at least 2.5 yrs. ago. They were recruiting talent as they didn't possess much current-gen platform development experence. (being GB-centric) This patent does sound rather broad in scope, but Square did use them for the Sword of Mana. If it is indeed a GC title, :D . We should know soon enough at E3. Mother 3 to the DS I guess.

Dude, wtf. There's nothing linking the recruitment page and World of Mana. Those are also promotional pics that mean nothing AND they're old. Way to fuck this thread up. These are not first images, they're not new and no one can even prove that they're World of Mana. Lock this PoS thread please.

Altough about everything Legend of Mana had to offer regarding story and characters was shitty, I kinda liked the music, the visuals in outdoor enviroments (I hate the smurf-look of the villages..) and the battlesystem was enjoyable. SE, please lose Shinichi Kameoka, lose the infantile, curvish architecture, and make something that at least vaguely resembles Secret of Mana/Seiken Densetsu III's style again.

So they should make the game's visual style resemble that of SD2 & 3 by getting rid of one of the few people on the graphics staff who actually worked on SD2 & 3? Alrighty then!

Get Hiroki Kikuta to do the music again, please... SOM and SD3 have some really interesting soundtracks (though not to everyone's taste). Oh yeah and make it somewhat challenging, with puzzles, and no stupid weapons forging systems or any of that, just straight up action-RPG goodness. Have the whole dev team play Ys 6 before working on the game.

I believe that turned out to be Pokemon Colosseum
