Worst Intro in a game

I'm having a bad morning, so I thought this would both (a) complement the Best Intro thread, and (b) cheer me up.

A couple weeks ago, my friend and I were going through some old PS1 games. We popped in Warhawk, and were on the floor laughing at the wacky live-action greenscreen intro. The acting was horrifically bad, but was entertaining for that reason. Guess it would qualify in the "so bad, it's good" category, but there's gotta be a myriad of horrible intros out there.

Anyway, go for it...
 
RE1 for the Ps1. :lol

Now I can laugh about it. But it gave me a very bad first impression of the game.
 
Onimusha 2's intro was pretty bad. It's amazing how much better the next one turned out.

I almost included Warhawk in the best intros. I know it won't happen, but I was pulling for more campy full motion video for the PS3 sequel.
 
To make things more interesting, how about, "What's the worst intro in a game that should've been good?" I think games like the aforementioned Resident Evil qualify, since those were games with what I'm guessing were pretty hefty budgets and high visibility, but executed poorly on the intros. I did like the exploding zombie dog heads, though. :)

I remember anticipating Omega Boost quite a bit before its release, and when my friends and I sat down to play it, the intro was just total crap. IIRC, like Warhawk, it had really bad live-action acting superimposed on CG sets.

Xenogears intro was sweet when it came to the animation and music, but the English voice dub was really bad.
 
As much as I love Bioware rpgs, their intros for all their games suck especially the D&D licensed games where they use still images and artwork in the intros.

Haha. I don't remember the specifics, only that the FMV intermissions were QUITE enjoyable. And the commander guy looked like my friend.
 
The added intro in the US version of DQ8. I've already seen the commercial..I don't need to see it after I've bought the game.
 
No question, King's Quest VIII's intro was the funniest thing I've ever seen. The "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" was so horrible you just couldn't help but laugh your ass off.

:lol I'm surprised someone bothered to mention this. You're right though; it's an awful opening suitable for an awful game.

The obsessive Kaiju fan in me just had to buy it, just to see. Goddamn, it went back not two days later.
 
Half Life's intro is very cool the first time you play it.

Every other time from then on its just painful.

Actually.. I have to confess that I have that game, it came packed with Skies of Arcadia for the GC, the intro is awful but the game its very funny to be honest.

Beyond the Beyond's CG intro was so embarassing that it was hidden behind a code at the American release's title screen.
 
Metal Combat must be the best game ever. How could it not be?

It's not as bad as you would think. Pretty bad, but nothing that some of the others mentioned here.
