WoW Battle Grounds Preview 2

We definitely are aware that the experience can start to degrade if the Battleground is completely packed with several hundreds of players; the sides begin to lose cohesion, individuals feel less able to contribute to the whole cause, and the potential evolves for a lop-sided affair. So we do have a cap on the number of people on each side that can enter a Battleground. Rest assured we want the two sides to be fairly matched. However, if you have to wait for your turn to enter the Battleground, you can still adventure in the rest of the game world before you are summoned to fight. Our goal has always been to create the optimum experience, and so we will continue to tweak the numbers till we feel we've got an epic, yet manageable, conflict that is fair to both Horde and Alliance players.

Oh boy, queues for the servers and queues for the battlegrounds. World of Waiting?

At least you're not locked out of the game entirely while waiting (i.e. you can still do everything else). In theory at least..

I'd much rather have queues than alliance zergfests with half the players being paladins or night elf rogues.

They had better have waiting lines or some alternative idea. Alliance outnumbers Horde through sheer fucking Paladins alone.

When Battlegrounds are in sight, I am swapping to Horde for certain.

Thanks Bliz, for not only totally ruining the image of my favorite FFXI job, but making it the polar opposite in terms of ease of use. :(

Its not a matter of preferring waiting, I mean you guys do realize the battlegrounds are instances? How about instead of making people wait, when it fills up it will create a new instance. Oh right, sorry, that would make sense.

I'd probably be more excited if I could actually buy this game right now.

How could Blizzard release that many copies of the game, yet not have the server power to back them up?

I'm thinking that's what they're actually going to do. Just not allow one side to go in without the other, hence the waiting if you have 500 alliance at alterac valley and only 200 horde.

Battlegrounds are going to be where I live once I hit level 60. Well... that and raids. I feel like a dumbass for even believing Blizzard's promise on this, but supposedly the upper tier battlegrounds rewards are going to rival the best raid loot, as those are their 2 big endgames (the third is hero classes but I doubt those will be out short of anything but an expansion).

For the time being, I just wish they'd increase the servers for whacky PvP raids. We minorly crashed the server three times trying to board the airships. When the last one (crash) rolled back the server about 15 minutes, I just gave up, not walking back.

Oh well. It was comedic just for the sheer ammount of people at least. Peak of the funny being at the Airship tower...thing. Where it was like watching lemmings, people falling off of all sides of the tower climbing up, falling off the every side of the ship once it took off in droves, haha.

Don't worry, there's no chance they will make the mistake of letting the upper tier stuff be attainable. It'll be the new non-racial mount.

no matter what you will always have queues.. I predict that they will require the BF to be even. so if there are 80 horde in the BF and 90 Alliance, all alliance members outside will have to wait until 10 more horde players jump in... this is what it has to be.. otherwise as already pointed out you will have 150 alliance in a battlefield and 50 horde...

adding instances will let more people play, but it still won't eliminate queues... well, for the alliance side at least.
