Wow, mercinaries looks pretty good!!

LucasArts has done a great job of turning around the company image as far as gaming is concerned. I know that most of their projects are farmed out, but they are being more selective about what games are making it to the hands of gamers.

Looking forward to Battlefront ;)

Looks good to me thanks for the heads up. They should change the name of the game to Contractors as to be more in line with the current name for mercs.

both mercenaries and battlefront are developed by pan "full spectrum warrior" demic.

lucasarts is throwing a hands-on play-time lunch party on wed. i figure you'll see more impressions of the game later this week.

I saw the video of it last week, and was rather impressed....

Playing it is even better. Controls = smooth. Mechanics = smooth. Explosions = awesome. Instead of invisible walls like most lazy games, you enter a 'rape by gunfire zone' and get hammered unless you leave it. You can destroy ALL buildings and call in the mafia to drop stuff off for you. And when they fly it in, you can attack them and make them hate you!

Easily most overlooked game of the show. Best game on PS2 easily. Apparently EA turned this down due to a contract stipulation that Pandemic wanted involving EA not pincing Pandemic's staff after the project ended. Whoops.

Doesn't Mercenaries have that AWFUL plot where you have to "hunt down the leadership of North Korea" - and they are portrayed by a deck of cards.

Glad they don't mind making good games and then spoiling them by putting in shitty b-grade storylines which make you ashamed when you play them...

Dunno. It played like a porn star though. I could've been liberating donuts for all I care.

Just watched the latest videos at Gamespot. Graphics are okay but I can't fault the level of environmental interaction. Reminiscent of Freedom Fighters in a very good way.
