I like Oba and how he's been booked. There's a chance to make him a huge star. I hope they don't bungle it.
Sad to see the New Day go. They've basically done nothing for the last year, but I think they've got to be in the conversation for the top 5 or so tag teams of all time. I know WWE like to pretend the Uso's are, but in my opinion I'd put the Hardyz, LoD, Hart Foundation, DX, New Day, Demolition, Money Inc, Natural Disasters, Dudleyz, and Edge and Christian above the Uso's and that's just off the top of my head.
Sounds like New Day may have been looking to get let go and I can't say I blame them. They're getting older and they have a chance to go somewhere else and have some good matches and fresh match ups versus whatever it is they've been doing the last year or so. I'm not the biggest AEW fan in the world but seeing them and the Young Bucks would be fun.
The other two - Cobb and Samoan Goblin #22848 are in the nothing of value was lost category.

Oh those creepy swamp preachers with the slide guitar intro song are on the TNA. I saw them a couple of times on the AEW and liked them. I'm not gonna try to watch TNA or anything but ya know it's nice to put to rest one of life's little mysteries.
Ted Turner memorial being instantly overshadowed by wall-to-wall Gingerbread Man memorial coverage... motherfuckers can't stop gloating about the demise of the WCW I guess.
Backlash indeed sucked.
Midgethausens are a bit much but I have no idea why they didn't let Danhausen hausen some more on the AEWs... I started watching right before... Hookhausen became a thing? That seemed like it got over a bit. Hook seems dead in the water these days.
Backlash indeed sucked, the TV shows have mostly sucked. I'm hoping AEW will deliver a couple of hours of high quality PPV again. Of course the PPV will be like 5.5 hours long buuut aggressive fast-forwarding and you can generally squeeze a couple of good hours of juice out of that orange.

He made it sound like the fans can vote for the champion? What's the point of the matches?
I'm assuming it was miscommunicated and fans can pick who is in the tournament? Or maybe who gets to the finals?
It just feels unnecessary to name a "John Cena Classic" 5 months after he retired and never really went away lol

Yeah, but Cena in fancy suits being a host and announcing his own tournament just feels weird. Maybe it's just me.
The fans were booing when he announced a new championship.
I think it'll hold slightly more weight than the Saudi mega belt, but much less than the old European title.
